Plot[]
Part One: The cafe is again understaffed, as Shona calls in sick. Evelyn lends Nina a hand behind the counter. David asks Nick if Toyah's baby is worth destroying his and Toyah's relationships with Leanne but Nick can't bear to deprive Toyah of what she's wanted for so long. Roy is still refusing to come downstairs. It's the day of Kit's mother's funeral. Gemma and Paul buy flowers but refuse to let Bernie pay towards them. Toyah's taken for a scan. Evelyn realises that the cafe staff are staying away deliberately in order to bring Roy out of seclusion. Kit warns Sarah that Nathan has reported that she paid him hush money. Betsy starts her work experience at the factory. The sonographer finds something surprising during Toyah's baby scan.
Part Two: Toyah is told that she isn't pregnant and never was. She has blood tests to find out why the readings gave a false positive. Toyah's devastated, having already mapped out her child's future in her head. Dev suggests to Bernie that if she sends a wreath herself to get Kit on side, Gemma and Paul will follow. Roy finally surfaces when burnt toast sets off the cafe's fire alarm. Nina's relieved when he puts an apron on and takes charge. Carla's annoyed to catch Betsy texting during working hours. Sarah's hauled in by the police over the hush money. She tells Lisa that Nathan's lying as he's obsessed with getting revenge on Bethany. Lisa asks her outright if she paid Nathan to change his statement. Toyah's bloods indicate a growth on one of her ovaries. She's told that she might have ovarian cancer and is booked in for a biopsy to find out more.
Part Three: Leanne promises to postpone her malware session in order to support Toyah. Toyah cries as she fears she's going to die. Carla confiscates Betsy's phone after catching her on it again. Sarah confesses to paying Nathan, but to leave Weatherfield rather than a bribe. She has to give the police Gary's name when Lisa asks if the £10k came from Damon, suspecting it came from the robbery he was involved with. Leanne tells Rowan that she can't do the session today but he talks her round by telling her it can help Toyah. Gemma sees Paul struggling to lift his left hand in the Rovers. He asks her not to tell anyone else. Kit accuses Bernie of trying to make the day about her by buying the flowers. Dev defends Bernie, warning Kit that he won't let him continue to ruin Bernie's life or turn the twins against her as they leave. Toyah asks Nick if he's relieved there isn't a baby. He tells her that he really wanted it too. As Toyah is taken in for the biopsy, Leanne hasn't turned up to support her. Rowan leads a blindfolded Leanne into her malware session.
Part Four: Leanne is forced to listen as the Institute members call her names and admonish her for all the bad things she's done over the years. Once they've broken her, they build her up, and she asks to be free. Roy enjoys being behind the counter again and tells Nina that he's back on the rota. Rowan tells Leanne that she passed the test with flying colours and is now a Level 6 member. Liam celebrates his fifteenth birthday with dinner at Speed Daal with Maria, Gary and Jake. Gary makes an excuse to slip out when he gets a text from Sarah. Sarah admits she shopped him to the police and needs him to prove that the hush money came from him. A suspicious Maria catches them together outside the restaurant. Leanne's excited about reaching a higher level of consciousness. She tries to share her joy with Nick and Toyah back at the flat but they're angry with her for letting her sister down. Betsy's embarrassed when Lisa collects her from the factory and questions her about the recipient of her texts, "JD". Nick tells David that Leanne's turned into someone he doesn't recognise and he doesn't know if he's in love with her anymore.
