Plot[]

Part One: Steve's fiftieth birthday arrives. His heavy hints cause the Barlows to finally twig that he's expecting a surprise party. Ken puts something together last-minute. Toyah tells Leanne she's moving out. Joel has a stiff neck from sleeping on the sofa at the shop flat. George's belongings are dumped in No.11's lounge. Todd demands that he patch things up with Glenda today or it's all getting thrown out. With Amy working, Ken's only able to rustle up Rita and Brian as guests for Steve's "party". Steve's disappointed when he gets there, especially when he finds out from Sally's social media that the Metcalfes have gone to the bust unveiling instead. Amy complains to Leanne that Tracy's left her to handle a meeting with her accountant about the shop. Steve decides to confront Tim for picking Tommy Orpington over him. Cassie goes along. Kit arranges to meet Bernie at the Rovers to discuss how to tell Gemma and Paul his true identity. With her out of the way, he goes up to the flower shop flat and tells his siblings that he's their brother.

Part Two: Leanne shows Amy an Institute video to help relieve her stress. Steve and Cassie get to the Chariot Square Hotel before the unveiling. Kit shows Gemma and Paul his adoption papers and birth certificate to prove that Bernie is his mother. George goes to the Rovers to make up with Glenda but is furious when she hands him a bill for the storage container his furniture is in. He's surprised to hear that she and Michael are no longer together. The Metcalfes and Kirk attend the unveiling. As the cover is lifted, it transpires that the bust has been swapped out for a football with a face drawn on it. Steve and Cassie make their getaway from the venue with the item. Bernie realises that Kit's stood her up. Kit tells Gemma and Paul about Bernie reaching out to him ten years ago only to bottle it at the last minute. He admits he helped them out previously because they're family. They're outraged on his behalf.

Part Three: Bernie drinks some Dutch courage before telling the twins the truth. Steve lets himself into No.4 with revenge on his mind. Amy's impressed with the seminar. Leanne suggests she attends one in person but she can't afford the membership fees. Bernie arrives at the flat and finds out what's been going on. She apologises to the twins for not telling them earlier. Dee-Dee asks Adam to move out of the flat so that Joel can have his room. He agrees. George tells Glenda that she can have the house if he can keep all of the business. She happily agrees and they settle their differences. Paul's bitter that Bernie's secrecy means that he won't get the chance to know Kit properly before he dies. She says she was scared to tell them about him before. Back home, Tim and Sally go upstairs to bed only to find the bust under the covers. Kit accuses Bernie of choosing this moment to reunite with him in order to line up a replacement son. Bernie's offended and throws a remote control at him.

Part Four: Paul kicks Bernie out of the flat. Kit makes a show of feeling sorry for Bernie and goes after her. Tim asks Steve what he's playing at. Steve says it's his punishment for betraying their friendship. Toyah advises Amy not to have anything to do with the Institute. Amy assures her she can handle herself. Dee-Dee tells Joel that he can move into the flat once Adam has found somewhere else to live. Joel texts Betsy, again offering her money to keep out of his life. Kit finds Bernie at Victoria Gardens and crows about giving her a taste of her own medicine. She tells him that Gemma and Paul will forgive her in time, but it's clear that his actions have hurt her deeply. Steve and Tim make up as they compare notes about turning fifty. They wonder what to do about the bust. Bernie's shocked when Gemma refuses to let her into No.5, saying she wants nothing more to do with her.
