Plot[]
Part One: Joseph's friends have ghosted him on their group chat. PC Connolly calls at No.5 to arrest Gemma. When Glenda mentions her situation with George and how she wants what’s rightfully hers, Michael’s disapproval is evident, and she senses he’s cooling towards her. Kit sees Gemma being charged at the station. Sally tells Tim she needs a new outfit for tomorrow. Steve listens, more convinced than ever that Tim’s planning a surprise party for him. Abi's made Kevin sleep on the couch. Joel is delighted to see his parents at the engagement lunch, and that they are reconciled with Dee-Dee. Receiving a text, he says he has to make a sudden exit to meet a client, but Dee-Dee makes him stay. Kit visits Gemma in her cell. Still unaware of who he is, he is sympathetic as she tells him of her personal circumstances.
Part Two: Glenda tells George that if he gives her his house, she will drop the case. He refuses. She steals his copy of the house keys. Bernie begs Kit to do what he can to secure Gemma’s release, telling him how hard her life is. Amy's annoyed that Tracy’s cancelled her visit and she’s staying in Spain. Steve’s secretly gutted, his plans to win her back up in smoke. Kit calls at the shoe shop and explains to Bruce Ruskin that he’s here about the shoplifting incident. Craig comes in on the same mission and is sent on his way. Gus assures Joel that he's happy for him, but his son is distracted by the texts from Sabrina's mate. Kit makes it clear to Bruce that he knows about his own dubious criminal record and blackmails him into dropping the charges. Kevin finds Abi with her bags packed. Gus makes a speech congratulating Dee-Dee and Joel. Sabrina's mate walks in, saying she's there to see Joel.
Part Three: As Dee-Dee approaches, Joel sends the girl outside, pretending she's a client in trouble. Gemma's interview is suddenly interrupted with the news that the charges have been dropped. Abi explains to Kevin that she needs to get away for a few days and she’s going to stay with Lynsey and the twins in Essex and that Lynsey knew nothing of the deepfakes. As she leaves, Kevin does his best to remain positive. Sabrina's mate forces Joel to hand over money to her when he sneaks out of the meal. As Gemma leaves the station, Craig is surprised to see that she is the one accused of shoplifting. He comments to Kit how much she and Chesney are struggling. Summoned by Mary, George finds that Glenda has dumped all his belongings in No.11. He realises she must have taken his keys. Sally is put out to hear that Kirk and Beth will be at the bust unveiling. Kit searches out Gemma and drops hints that Bruce isn't all above board. She realises he's gone out of his way for her and doesn't understand why he would.
Part Four: Kit can't bring himself to tell her that he is her brother. She invites him into No.5. George is staggered when Glenda tells him she's changed the locks on the house and kicked him out. Michael tells her she's made a low blow. Kit is delighted to meet his little nephews and nieces. Steve is still convinced that a surprise birthday party looms and thinks everyone's non-plussed reactions to his chat about it are convincing acts. Still in No.5, Kit takes a call from his dad to say that his mum has died suddenly. Bernie is surprised to find him there. Michael finishes with Glenda, saying she's crossed the line. Sabrina's mate texts Joel who promises her more money, just before Lisa walks up to her - she is her daughter, Betsy. Kit decides he wants to change things and tells a delighted Bernie it's time Paul and Gemma knew who he was.
