Plot[]
Part One: No.5 is in its usual state of chaos: Joseph asks if two more of his friends can join Olly Ruskin when he comes round for tea, and Carys needs new shoes. Kevin confides in Tyrone that Stefan has agreed to pay to take down the deepfake videos. Steve hears that Tracy is coming back next week for the unveiling of Tommy's bronze bust at County. He claims he's not interested in celebrating his forthcoming fiftieth. Bernie comforts a sobbing Gemma when she gets a £70 parking fine in the post. Dee-Dee lies to Joel when he asks her to join him for lunch, not telling him that she and Ed are meeting his parents. George finds Glenda and Michael in the cafe and suggests they bury the hatchet and meet for a drink later. Glenda refuses. Having been rung by the school to tell her that Carys has blisters from her tight shoes, Gemma takes her to a shoe shop. Stefan summons Kevin and that the deal is off as he’s not willing to pay the £60,000 per year to take the videos down. When he makes an insulting comment about Abi, Kevin punches him. Stefan throws him out, threatening him with the police. The shoes are £45 which Gemma can't afford to pay. While the assistant is distracted, she grabs Carys’s hand and they flee the shop without paying.
Part Two: Abi realises that Tyrone knows something about what's going on with Stefan. Bernie gives Gemma the parking fine money and wonders how her daughter paid for Carys's new shoes when she is skint. Glenda agrees that Michael should become friends with George to find out what he's planning. Bernie and Gemma's row about what she's done is silenced when Joseph arrives with his three Oakhill friends. Tim puts pressure on Steve to agree to a night out to celebrate his fiftieth. Abi forces Kevin to come clean about what's going on. Dee-Dee and Ed meet up with Anthea and Gus for lunch in the bistro. Anthea sincerely apologises for their earlier behaviour. When Amy, waiting on tables, lets slip that Joel and Dee-Dee are engaged, Anthea and Gus are taken aback. Joel bumps into Sabrina again at the precinct and they flirt. He pours a whisky in her coffee while hiding from her that his is untouched. A guilt-ridden Gemma returns to the shoe shop and the manager catches her trying to put the shoes back. She runs off.
Part Three: Gemma loses the manager. Abi rants at Kevin at what he's done. He accuses her of walking away from her problems as she storms out of the house. Ed and Michael have to step in when Anthea accuses Dee-Dee of being possessive and encouraging Joel to exclude them. Anthea storms out, followed by her husband. Sabrina's mate reckons Joel’s a creep and she should steer well clear but nevertheless pockets the business card he gave her friend. Joseph isn't pleased when Chesney serves up cheap kebabs but is happy when his mates all like them. Dev donates Asha's old shoes to Gemma and Chesney. Abi visits Stefan and he agrees to no more videos, provided she doesn't hand over the phone to the police. She threatens to destroy him if he comes near her again. Dee-Dee is surprised to receive a visit from the Deerings who accept that there are times when their son shuts them out and they overreacted to her. They take up her invitation to the forthcoming surprise engagement meal. Bernie lets slip to Chesney about Gemma's shoplifting, just as she walks through the door.
Part Four: Chesney forgives her, sorry that he can't provide more for his family. Sally shows Tim an invitation to the unveiling of Tommy's bust. He realises it clashes with Steve’s fiftieth and Sally demands he cancels that in her favour. George begs Michael to convince Glenda to drop the case. Tim tells Steve he can no longer go on the night out with him. Steve assumes a surprise party is being planned. Glenda is disappointed to think that Michael is taking George's side and refuses to drop the case. Bruce Ruskin calls to collect Olly and his friends and Gemma recognises him as the shoe shop manager. Sabrina's mate demands Joel gives her money or she will tell on him for giving a teenager alcohol. He's untroubled by her threats. After sending the goggling boys out to his car, Bruce threatens Gemma with the police. Joseph can't believe how she's humiliated him.
