Plot[]
Part One: Toyah trawls social media for dirt on the institute. Joel warns Dee-Dee that his parents can be a bit stand-offish as she prepares to meet them. Abi's determined not to let the videos spoil her day with Charlie and Lexi. Bobby's certain that the Daniel situation will blow over but Carla's unconvinced as they get the short shrift from Ken. Sarah and Bethany have brunch to mark Bethany's 24th birthday. Toyah's internet posts are taken down and she's threatened with legal action by the institute. She resolves to continue the fight when Bethany reveals that a colleague once tried to do an exposé on them but hit a brick wall. Nathan tells Joel he's dropping him as brief and hiring someone who believes in him. George is still unaware that Glenda is suing him. Michael advises her to tell him before he finds out another way. The police question Sarah about the planted evidence again. The twins' adoptive mother phones Abi to tell her that the visit is off as Lexi has chicken pox. A paranoid Abi thinks it's an excuse and the woman knows about the deepfakes.
Part Two: Dee-Dee is introduced to Joel's posh parents Gus and Anthea Deering at the bistro. She's polite when Anthea looks down on her for working at a backstreet solicitors. George wires £500 to Eileen in Thailand as Jason's medical insurance has run out. Joel tells Sarah he's no longer representing Nathan but lies that it was his decision to drop the abuser. He offers her legal advice off-the-books if she needs it. Kevin gets onto Dev's online management company and is told that it'll cost £5k per month to keep the deepfakes off the search engine results. Dee-Dee squirms as Anthea goes on about how Joel's love life has always held him back. She calls out the woman's patronising tone when she praises her for doing so well when her dad's just a handyman. Rowan tells Leanne that he did pass Nick's message on and blames an underling for not delivering it to her. She's incensed that Toyah is trying to ruin them on social media. Toyah receives a letter informing her that the institute is suing her for defamation and taking out an injunction. Dee-Dee storms out of the bistro. Joel finds her at the shop flat and apologises for his mother's behaviour. Assuring her that he loves her, he drops down on one knee and asks her to marry him.
Part Three: Dee-Dee is unable to give an answer. Toyah tells Leanne about the lawsuit. She's stunned when her sister suggests she had it coming. Sarah decides to turn down free legal advice and let Joel advise her. Dee-Dee tells Joel that although she might marry him one day, it's too soon. He's crushed. Abi refuses to let Kevin bankrupt himself to meet the management company's fee. She and Debbie consider other options. Michael's glad that Dee-Dee isn't marrying Joel but Ed senses that this isn't what his daughter wants and advises her to go with her instincts. Glenda's surprised to hear that George used his own money to pay Jason's medical bills and feels bad about suing him. Joel slips out to meet Ellie.
Part Four: Ellie demands £300 from Joel. He sends her off and tells her not to contact him again. Adam advises Toyah to drop her smear campaign and write a grovelling apology to the institute. Abi decides to pay for a private detective to find out who her troll is. Kevin agrees on the condition that, if they're successful, they let the police deal with them. Bobby tells Carla that he's moving back in with his gran as he's caused her nothing but trouble. She doesn't argue with him. Dee-Dee tells Joel that she will marry him. He's thrilled. Nick can't believe that Leanne would stand back while Rowan destroys Toyah. She refuses to listen. As Nick heads out, she opens her laptop, smiles at the person on the screen and tells them she loves them. The Baileys celebrate Dee-Dee and Joel's engagement. Glenda considers dropping her lawsuit against George. Bethany senses that something isn't right with Joel.
