Plot[]
Part One: The action returns to earlier the same day...
Dee-Dee bumps into Carla who spills her coffee all over Sarah's feet. Carla sees Sam distributing flyers for the car wash. Dee-Dee receives her daily call from Roy later than usual. Bethany freezes as Nathan drives past her on Victoria Street with a grin on his face.
Roy has remembered that Lauren's boyfriend sent her flowers on Valentine's day but Dee-Dee-Dee has already followed that lead to a blank conclusion. She tells him she is waiting to receive the linguist's report but also that his case has been set for a trial date. Roscoe visits Roy and has a busted hand which he excuses away. Roy confesses that he worries that he will get off on Bobby's false evidence when he wants his name cleared properly. Dee-Dee's tells an anxious Nina that step-by-step they are getting there. Later, Dee-Dee visits Roy and breaks the bad news to him that the small sample size of texts was inconclusive as the sender was as pedantic in their use of punctuation as he is. She is now relying on Bobby's statement. Roscoe tries to cheer a despondent Roy up, encouraging him not to stay in his cell. Roy is told the police want to see him. Griff puts pressure on Roscoe, having already hurt his hand to force compliance; he's to continue trying to lure Roy out of his cell, or Griff will ensure that Roscoe's granddaughter will get hurt. A desperate Roscoe agrees to lure him to the library at 3.00pm.
Lisa visits Roy and asks him outright if his fallout with Carla has anything to do with Bobby’s statement.
She thinks it's because he knows Bobby was lying. Wanting justice to work by playing his part in the system, he admits to her that Bobby and Carla lied. He implores her not to ruin more lives with the information he's given, but she's adamant that the law must apply to everyone.
Part Two: Dee-Dee is appalled to see Lisa leading Bobby away after his arrest, knowing her entire case has now come crashing down.
In his cell, Roy reads his book and hears a knock at the door.
It is Roscoe with cups of tea for them both. Having heard about Bobby's arrest, Nina takes her frustrations out on Dee-Dee. Desperately upset, Joel fails to comfort her. With Roy nearing the end of his book, Roscoe asks to look at it but stages an accident.
He "spills" his tea over the floor and then drops the book in the puddle.
He offers to take him to the library to get another one, but Roy knows that it was no accident. Roscoe lies that he can't read, was too embarrassed to say so, and wanted his help to learn. Roy falls for his lie and accompanies him to the library. Dee-Dee enters the cafe, sees that Bobby has been released and hears from Bethany that Nathan has been arrested. She thinks this is the break they need. Roy has found a book for Roscoe to start learning with and returns to his cell. Griff is waiting for him with the blade of glass in his hand.

Notes[]
- Continuing a tradition established in 2010, Coronation Street was transmitted at 7.30pm each weekday as a half-hour episode before an extended edition of Britain's Got Talent.
- This week's episodes employed a non-linear narrative and this episode repeated scenes from the previous ones with further context added, though they are not always flashbacks in the true sense of the word. These repeats are denoted by the use of italicised paragraphs in the plot summary above.
- In addition, this episode also had a short and rapid "time-reversal" sequence taken from the previous two episodes which featured shots of Craig Tinker, Kit Green, Daniel Osbourne, Bertie Osbourne and Nathan Curtis, who are credited for these appearances only.
- Kate Waters was credited as the fight arranger for the scene where the coffee is spilled over Sarah Platt after Dee-Dee Bailey bumps into Carla Connor.
- TV Times synopsis: Roy allows himself to be lured from the sanctuary of his cell to the prison library, only to find a nasty surprise awaiting his return, in the form of Griff.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast: 4,665,000 viewers (11th place).
