Plot[]
Part One: Kerry gets up during the night to snoop around the flat. She records a video for her followers giving them a guided tour of the "murderer"'s living room. A sleepwalking Roy disturbs her when he emerges from his bedroom. Liam tells Maria he's ready to return to school. Maria doesn't agree. Sam asks Nick if they can do more to help Roy. Simon tells Leanne that the institute has inspired a business idea of his. Nick makes up with Roy and assures him that he's happy for him to see Sam once the investigation blows over. Sam calls Roy his BFF while Kerry eavesdrops. Stu goes to meet Eliza as she returns from Germany. Gary tries to convince Maria that the normality of school is what Liam needs. She insists she has to keep Liam close as it makes her feel secure. Gary's hurt when Maria implies that he doesn't understand because he isn't Liam's real dad. Roy is stunned to receive a phone call from Lauren's mum demanding he stop trying to contact her. Nina and Shona confront "Kerry", who admits she's an impostor.
Part Two: "Kerry" - whose real name is Alice - calls Roy a killer and a pervert as she's marched out of the cafe. Sarah anxiously awaits news from Damon's sentencing. She and Gary end up consoling each other at his flat when Gary confides in her about Liam's suicidal thoughts. Toyah apologises to Leanne for going behind her back by seeing Rowan. They agree to disagree over the institute. Alice uploads her nighttime video to her blog. Her commentary portrays Roy as a weirdo who is best friends with a schoolboy. Gary tells Sarah about Maria's overprotectiveness and how it's ruining their relationship. Maria's distracted at the salon as she doesn't know where Liam is. She checks her camera app and is intrigued to see Sarah in the flat with Gary. Toyah interrupts her so she can't watch any further. Roy's upset over Alice's trickery and blames himself for not seeing through her. He tries to hide away in the flat but Evelyn refuses to let him. Sarah's devastated when Dee-Dee calls to say that Damon's been given six years. Gary gives her a supportive hug. Roy and Evelyn take Freddie for a walk. They're accosted at the door by Alice and her phone. Roy ignores her taunts until she suggests he killed Hayley, whereupon he snatches her phone from her, leading Alice to stumble and hit her head. Accusing him of assault, Alice hurries away.
Part Three: Liam texts Maria to say he was just at the cinema. Maria admits to Toyah that she's terrified of something happening to her son. Simon pitches his idea of a new locally-based food delivery app to Leanne and Carla. Carla warns him that it's a saturated market but Leanne thinks it has potential. Alice posts the video of her "assault" to her blog and reports the crime to the police. Sarah tries to kiss Gary. When he pulls back, she leaves embarrassed. Leanne takes a big booking at the bistro and crows to Nick that she visualised it with Rowan's teachings. He's unconvinced. Toyah recommends some charity counsellors to Maria for Liam, but advises her to see someone herself too. She agrees to counsel Maria in an official capacity as long as she speaks to Gary first. Stu's downcast as he tells Yasmeen that the first thing Eliza said to him was that she wants to live in Germany. Simon presents Leanne with his business plan. Leanne confirms that she would like to be his first investor. DS Swain arrives at the flat to arrest Roy. Evelyn takes responsibility for pushing Alice over but Roy refutes this and goes willingly.
Part Four: Dee-Dee makes Adam admit that he went to Damon's sentencing himself, for the satisfaction. She rushes to Roy's side when Nina alerts her to what's happened. Maria tells Gary that she knows he had Sarah at the flat. He's shocked when she unveils the hidden camera. Stu decides to let Eliza move to Germany if it's what she wants. Maria believes that Gary and Sarah were just having a friendly chat and apologises for shutting him out. She assures him he's a brilliant dad to Liam. Gary worries when she mentions that the camera feed is backed up on the cloud. At the police station, Roy denies assaulting Alice, stating that she tripped over of her own accord. He explains how she deceived him by pretending to be Lauren's mother and admits that her deception made him feel angry. Leanne forwards Simon's business proposal to Rowan. He isn't keen. Dee-Dee breaks the news to Roy's family and friends that, as his bail was conditional on him committing no further offences, he's been charged with Lauren's murder. Roy sits alone in his police cell, his mind numb with fear.
