Plot[]
Part One: Shona hangs up every time the cafe's landline rings, assuming it's another crank call. Nina orders her to answer as Roy's asked Lauren's mother to get in touch. After reading through comments online, Stu tells Yasmeen and Alya that he intends to help Roy clear his name as he knows what it's like to be wrongly accused. Leanne sits with her eyes closed and explains to Nick that she's 'reality coding' in an attempt to eliminate the unexpected. Nick thinks it's nonsense. Toyah's annoyed when her sister spends her shift at the bistro watching a self-help video. Debbie comments that Rowan is checking out of the Chariot Square today to fly to America. Carla's pleased that Stephen's money will allow her to buy the factory building from Gary. Rita gets the full story out of Jenny when she hears the pair discussing the factory money theft. Violet prepares to take Dylan back to London. Sean begs her to let Dylan stay in Weatherfield but Violet insists that her son needs supervision and he's shown that he isn't up to the task. Stu offers to pay a homeless man at the precinct for information about Lauren. As he pulls out his wallet, the man picks up a brick and hits him over the head.
Part Two: Kirk helps Stu limp back to Speed Daal after his mugging. Rita tells Jenny not to kid herself that she's any less guilty of stealing from Carla than Daisy. She calls her foster daughter a hypocrite if she doesn't accept the same punishment. Ed can't get a labouring job as he's been blacklisted by all the local builders. Debbie offers him a job as a handyman at the Chariot Square and he gratefully accepts. Toyah catches Rowan as he's checking out of the hotel and makes out she's considering signing up to the institute. As Rowan spouts his reality coding drivel, she reveals that she's a trained counsellor and suggests that what he's doing is harmful. He shrugs off the accusation. Kirk lets slip to Roy that Stu was assaulted while trying to help him. Roy refuses to let anyone else get hurt on his behalf and declares that he'll bear his cross alone from now on. Toyah warns Nick that Rowan is a fraud and he needs to nip Leanne's obsession in the bud before he takes all her money. Evelyn warns Roy that Hayley's son Christian Gatley has made accusations against him.
Part Three: Roy reads the interview in which Christian insinuates that he murdered Hayley, as well as Lauren. As they head for the tram stop, Dylan begs Violet to let him stay and put things right with the people he's hurt. Nick shares his and Toyah's misgivings about the institute with Leanne. She says she doesn't care what they think. Roy admits to Nina that there's a kernel of truth in what Christian said about Hayley's death. She's unwavering in her support. Bethany hears from Daniel that Daisy did steal Carla's money and demands an apology from Daisy for making her out to be a fool. Daisy's taken aback when Jenny defends her and sends Bethany packing. Jenny tells Daisy that she's realised they're equally to blame for what happened. Violet allows Dylan to remain in Weatherfield to finish his GCSEs. Dylan and Sean are thrilled as she leaves for London. Lauren's mum, Kerry, calls at the cafe asking to see Roy.
Part Four: Kerry tells Roy that she's decided to ignore what the trolls have been saying about him online, as they've been spreading lies about her too. She asks him what Lauren was up to her in her final days. His faith in human nature restored, Roy offers to let her stay the night at the flat when she reveals she has nowhere to go. Toyah tries to make Leanne see that Rowan is preying on her by exploiting her grief over Oliver but Leanne insists it's just another form of therapy. Leanne accuses Toyah of calling her thick and looking down her nose at her ever since they were kids. Despite this, she offers to cancel the next module if it'll shut her and Nick up. Jenny tells Daisy that Carla wants her to move out of the Rovers. Evelyn begs Roy to put Kerry up in a B&B if he wants to play the good samaritan but he ignores her advice. Leanne calls Rowan and tells him she's pulling out. When he offers to refund everything she's paid so far, she thinks it can't be a scam and tells him she'll do the module after all. As Roy leads Kerry up to the flat, she takes a call and tells the person on the other end that she's in.
