Plot[]
Part One: With her own motives in mind, Bethany tells Daniel she’s going to call in and see if Daisy needs help preparing for their dinner party tonight. A nervous Maria heads off to work leaving Gary to home-school Liam. Arriving at the Rovers, Bethany persuades a reluctant Daisy to let her help with the cooking and whilst Daisy’s distracted, Bethany turns the oven up on the apple pie. Sean admits to Eileen that he’s looking forward to Dylan coming back, even though it is just for his court hearing. There is a tense atmosphere between Daisy and Bethany. Having discovered the pie burnt to a crisp, Daisy heads out to buy a replacement, leaving Bethany and Ryan to prepare the rest of the meal. Steve is pleased to get a hit on his dating profile. The cafe receives abusive calls directed at Roy. Dee-Dee confides in Adam and Alya that she’s worried all the evidence so far seems stacked against him. Jenny calls Ryan through to the bar. Bethany seizes the opportunity to rifle through the drawers in the back room and finds something which intrigues her.
Part Two: Bethany stuffs the item in her handbag and rushes out, telling Ryan that Daniel’s summoned her. The bridal party arrives at the salon, headed by demanding bride Scarlett Truscott. Maria takes a sneak look at an app on her phone which allows her to watch Gary and Liam in the flat through a hidden camera. Tracy packs the last of her things at No.1 and admits to Ken, Amy and Daniel how much she’s going to miss them. Ken suggests a farewell drink in the Rovers. Nina receives another abusive call. Sean wonders how to fix things with Gary and Maria. As Maria works on the bride’s hair, she stops to check her camera app and starts to panic when Liam disappears from view. Steve sits at the end of the bar with a newspaper as the Barlows celebrate. Scarlett grows more demanding. Maria rings Liam but it is diverted to an answerphone. In a panic, she flees home. Tommy rings Tracy to say he’s on the way and she begs Steve not to make a scene. Daisy returns with an expensive dessert. In her flat, Bethany leafs through Stephen’s journal.
Part Three: Tommy arrives at the Rovers. Steve stares daggers at him before leaving. Amy feels wretched. Liam emerges from the bathroom as Maria bursts in. Seeing that he’s fine, she makes an excuse and returns to the salon. Bethany nags Daniel to dress up for their dinner. On her way back to the salon, Maria is too distracted to listen to Sean’s attempts to talk to her. She returns to complaints from Scarlett and an assurance from Audrey that they will not be charged for their services. Arriving for the meal, Bethany sees that Daisy is dressed to the nines in expensive gear. With the bridal party gone, Audrey senses that something is wrong with Maria and offers her a shoulder to cry on. Tracy is waved off to Spain by family and friends. A saddened Steve also watches his wife and Tommy depart.
Part Four: The dinner party is uncomfortable. Bethany questions Daisy about where she got her money for the dress from. Carla and Nina tell Dee-Dee about Roy’s sleep-walking and the abusive calls. Dee-Dee assures them she’s doing everything she can to prove his innocence. Abi, Mary and Kirk remember their times with Tracy. Bethany suddenly produces Stephen’s journal and accuses Daisy of stealing the Underworld money to buy the Rovers. Daniel apologises for Bethany’s behaviour and insists they leave. Daisy is unnerved. Maria doesn’t admit to Gary about how difficult she found her day. Steve prepares to go out on a date. Amy feels sorry for her dad. Daniel refuses to listen to Bethany’s suspicions about Daisy and Jenny. Sean hopes that Maria will think differently once Dylan’s trial is over. Jenny is horrified to hear that Bethany knows about the journal. They hope that Carla won’t find out, unaware that Ryan is at that moment telling her everything that happened at the meal, giving her food for thought.

Notable dialogue[]
Mary Taylor (about Tracy McDonald): "I suppose she was my best friend; I mean after Norris anyway. I think I got a thrill out of being... "best buds" with such a...such a bad girl."
Kirk Sutherland: "She was that all right!"
Mary Taylor: "I mean, she would have been one of those mean girls at school, you know, the ones I looked up to, the ones that terrified me if I’m honest. And to think all these years later that...somebody like that...like...like Tracy would be palling up with a misfit like me."
Abi Webster: "Oh, Mary, don’t be daft!"
Mary Taylor: "I mean, I...I look at women my age, married, kiddies, all that. Some happily, some not, you know, and...and I think to myself…" (she draws them in for her answer). "I like being a misfit!"
Abi Webster: "I’ll drink to that!"
Kirk Sutherland: "Me an’ all!"
