Plot[]
Part One: Daniel fears he'll go down for a crime he didn't commit. Ken encourages him to have faith in the justice system. Leanne finds out from Debbie that a wedding fayre is on at the Chariot Square at the same time as the Altovalent Institute seminar. The residents wonder if Lauren is really dead. Nina reads vile comments about Roy on the Gazette website. Gemma instructs Chesney to get Linda to back off. Eliza starts learning German for when she goes to live with Dom. Amy offers to watch a film with Steve in a bid to cheer him up. Daniel accuses Max of making seedy insinuations about his lessons with Lauren to the police. Max admits that he ratted on him and calls him a perv. Daniel is about to hit Max when Ken intervenes. Leanne asks Nick to check out the wedding fayre with her. He agrees though he's clearly not keen. Max wants to do another appeal for Lauren and ropes in Roy. Debbie makes a comment about the internet trolls, forcing Carla to tell Roy he's become a target. He insists on reading them and is shocked by what he sees.
Part Two: Carla and Nina implore Roy not to do the appeal as he'd become an even bigger target. Roy agrees to step back so that the focus remains on Lauren. Linda complains to Izzy about the way Gemma is treating her. Izzy has little sympathy and accuses her of showing Joseph favouritism over Jake. Stu admits to Dom that he's been selfish and suggests Eliza has a trial run living with him in Hamburg with a view to moving there permanently. He tells him that Bridget will agree to it if he does. Toyah lets slip to Steve that Tommy was at Amy and Tracy's lunch yesterday and they were all getting along. Debbie offers Leanne and Nick a good price for an August wedding at the Chariot Square. Nick puts her off, saying they need to look at other venues first. Paul tells Gemma it's unfair to deny Joseph a good education just because she hates Linda. Leanne's annoyed with Nick's lack of enthusiasm. She pushes him to admit that while he does want to marry her, he doesn't want to do so yet. Suki Waters arrives at the cafe to record the new appeal. They're interrupted by the arrival of DS Swain, who arrests Roy on suspicion of murder.
Part Three: Roy is taken away in a police car. Simon has a good experience at the wellness seminar. Dee-Dee represents Roy as he's questioned again. Swain reveals that there were traces of blood on a chair which Roy threw away when he was cleaning the flat. Roy's told that his fingerprints were on the cash under Lauren's bed; he says they're her wages. Rowan Cunliffe from the Institute introduces himself to a wound-up Leanne and gives her advice about not caring what other people think of her. Roy volunteers the fact that Lauren once offered herself to him. Swain brings up the many times he called her outside work hours, which he says were to arrange her shifts. He refutes the suggestion that they shared a deeper relationship. Swain brings up a condom wrapper he threw away which has his fingerprints on it, despite him supposedly wearing gloves when he cleaned the flat. Roy explains that he took the gloves off thinking he'd finished, only to then spot the wrapper.
Part Four: Gemma tells Chesney that they shouldn't rule out Oakhill. Roy is released but is placed under curfew and has to report to the police station weekly. Rowan talks to Leanne and encourages her to live for herself and not other people. Dom tells Eliza that she can stay in Hamburg for Easter and that, if it goes well, she can move there permanently. She's overjoyed. Gemma and Chesney decide to take Joseph to an Oakhill open day. He can't wait. Amy assures Steve that Tommy turned up at the bistro unannounced and she only went along with it to find out if he's serious about Tracy. Steve tells her about Tommy's new job but swears her to secrecy. The video of Roy's arrest is posted online. Leanne apologises to Nick for pushing him into marriage. They agree to stop forcing things and start listening to each other. Roy is still trying to think positive but Dee-Dee tells Carla that she's seen people go down for less.
