Plot[]
Part One: An exhausted Maria watches over Liam while he sleeps. As Joel leaves a loved-up Dee-Dee’s flat, he forgets his wallet. Adam passes it to Dee-Dee and a receipt falls out. She sees it’s from a jeweller’s dated December, and Joel has clearly spent a lot of money. Maria rings the medical centre and demands an urgent appointment. Steve admits to Amy that he’s been neglecting Tracy recently and is planning a romantic meal at the bistro. Bobby tells Lauren he knows about her Ovidz videos, and he’s worried about her. She clams up, leaving him frustrated. Liam admits to Dr Gaddas that his life had become so unbearable that he just wanted to end it. Alya sees Joel having a argument with someone on the phone. Simon finds a support group but Nick is reluctant to let him use the car to get there. Leanne plans a wedding near Stella in the south of France. Dr Gaddas tells Maria that she’s referring her son to a mental health unit, but there’s a long waiting list so in the meantime she must keep a close eye on him. At the precinct, Mason goads Gary in front of Dylan, telling him that Liam needs to watch his back. Gary sees red and throws him to the ground as Sean approaches.
Part Two: Sean threatens to report Gary to the police as Mason denies uttering any threats. Lauren admits to Bethany that she’s skint and wonders if she’d write up her story of how she was brainwashed by a far-right group and sell it to a magazine. Tracy is annoyed with Tommy for drinking with Steve. Hearing about the bistro meal from Amy, Tracy throws Tommy a smug grin. Joel calls at the solicitors to find Dee-Dee, Adam and Alya discussing the receipt. When Joel makes out he bought himself some cufflinks, Alya jokes about his expensive taste. Liam gets his initial mental health triage appointment. Gary admits to Maria about his encounter with Mason. She's not unduly annoyed. Over lunch, Steve apologises for taking Tracy for granted and assures her that he still loves her. Alya spots Joel in a car being driven by a sullen looking woman. Nick calls to offload on David about Leanne and finds out that she's already outlined her wedding plans on the family group chat. David points out the expense for everyone else. Talking to Eileen and George, and determined to clear Dylan’s name, Sean demands he hands over his phone. Dylan complies with reluctance.
Part Three: Having read the abusive texts, including a homophobic one, Sean erupts in anger at his son and then dissolves in tears of shame. Gail senses that Nick has doubts about marrying. Alya tells Adam what she saw, and he admits that he also mistrusts him. Tracy enjoys her meal but admits to Tommy that she and Steve have lost their spark. He tells her to focus on her marriage. Liam is frightened to find out about Gary's encounter with Mason and says he's a dead man. Bethany can't get any of Lauren's old compatriots to talk to her for the article. Lauren is disappointed to find that her cut of the fee will only result in £30 for her. She notices that Bethany has left her bag behind in the cafe. Feeling guilty, Sean realises he has to face Gary and Maria. At the bistro, Joel lies to Dee-Dee and Alya about being in court all afternoon. Gary, Maria and Liam are surprised when Sean calls to see them and apologises.
Part Four: Having told them about his discovery, a contrite Sean assures them that Dylan's bullying will stop. Maria tells him it changes nothing as the damage is done and they are still going to complain to Mrs Crawshaw. Bethany returns for her bag and finds Lauren rifling through it. With £5 missing, Roy has no option but to sack her. Alya confides her fears about Joel to Toyah who remembers his row with another woman a few weeks ago. They decide to look at the bistro's CCTV footage. Nick persuades Leanne to defer their wedding plans to enable people to save up. Alya recognises the woman from the CCTV. Dylan assures Sean he will confess all to Mrs Crawshaw, but Mason makes it clear that he will be his next target if he grasses him up.
