Plot[]
Part One: Simon is grateful to Leanne for covering for him and promises he won't booze any more. Bethany decides to forewarn Daisy about her Chit-Chat article. Gary lets Liam spend the day with him at the Furniture Shop. Maria's surprised when Liam leaves his phone behind. Playing chess with Roy before school, a distracted Sam struggles to make a basic move. Billy asks Summer for help arranging a Valentine's Day surprise for Paul. Rita and Mary react sourly when Bobby tells them he's Rob Donovan's son. Daisy reluctantly agrees to bury the hatchet with Bethany. Kevin tells Nick the repairs to Leanne's car will be £1,500. Nick asks about the brakes and is confused when Kevin says they're fine.
Part Two: Hope finds Sam unconscious on the floor at school. Bobby asks Carla to tell him about Tina McIntyre. Summer confides in Billy that she was offered the chance to study in America for a semester, but turned it down as he and Paul needed her. She says they've written back offering the place again and now she isn't sure what to do. Bobby finds out from Carla that Rob killed Tina in cold blood and not in self-defence, as he'd been led to believe. He thinks it's why Carla doesn't want him around. Sam is rushed to hospital where he's taken for a brain scan. Nick asks Leanne what really caused the crash and she admits that Simon was over the limit. Back home, Simon's riddled with guilt thinking Sam will die. Bethany and Daisy make headway at the cafe but Daisy feels patronised when she sees a text from Daniel on Bethany's phone praising her for being the bigger person. They row and Daisy walks out. Simon goes into the police station to hand himself in.
Part Three: Nick's furious that Leanne lied to him about Sam's accident and questions her priorities. Simon tells PC Travers he'd been drinking and lost control of the car. Bethany goes after Daisy and asks for another chance. She agrees when Bernie steps in and acts as peacemaker. Bobby and Lauren compare notes about their terrible dads. Sam's brain scan comes back fine and he's discharged. Bethany buys Daisy a cocktail at the bistro to apologise for being a cow. She builds herself up to tell her about the article but when Daisy says she can't wait for her love life to be old news, she loses her nerve. Summer decides to ask the university to defer her placement a year. Billy asks her not to mention it to Paul as he'd want her to go. Leanne worries when Toyah tells her Simon's gone AWOL. Gary thinks it's time Liam went back to school, confident that the bullies will have moved onto a new target. Glenda tells Nick about Simon being drunk at the Rovers and Leanne having to carry him home.
Part Four: Nick holds Leanne equally responsible for the crash as she knew how bad Simon was and didn't say anything. Simon arrives home having been charged with failing to report an accident. Bethany decides to withdraw her article so as not to hurt Daisy. She calls the magazine but they refuse to pull it as they've already paid her. Nick refuses to let Simon spend the night under the same roof as Sam so Simon leaves to stay with a mate. Lauren thinks it's no wonder she chooses terrible men given who her dad is. Bobby suggests the next one will be a good one. Billy promises Paul a Valentine's Day to remember. Liam charges his phone and sees a message from Mason telling him he's dead if he returns to school. Carla tells Bobby that she didn't let Rob ruin her life, and neither should he. Nick doesn't know if he can continue with Leanne. With nowhere to go, Simon sleeps rough in Victoria Street.
