Plot[]
Part One: Billy finds a disability-specific hotel for the holiday. Paul's voice talker apparatus is delivered, and he nervously uses the device to play some of his pre-recorded phrases. Bethany has spent another night with Daniel who celebrates his birthday. Tyrone tells Evelyn he'd rather she didn't attend Terry's hearing as the sight of her might antagonise him. Billy finds that the cost of travel insurance is extortionate due to Paul's condition, so Paul insists they forget about the holiday. Roy tells Cassie he cannot let Abi take the blame for damaging the car. She reluctantly agrees to come clean. David hands over the keys of the barbers to its new owners. In the Rovers, Gemma and David learn of Paul's aborted holiday and decide to cheer him up with a jug of sangria. Tyrone rings a relieved Evelyn to tell her that Terry pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later. Damon receives an anonymous text warning him that the clock is ticking. As Cassie prepares to confess to Kevin, the words die in her mouth when he offers her a permanent position at the garage.
Part Two: David and Paul have fun with the voice apparatus in the pub as Steve joins them with a second jug of sangria. Abi is annoyed with Kevin for offering Cassie the position without telling her first. Mr Lee collects his Porsche but refuses to pay his bill. Over a birthday drink in the bistro, Daniel tells a pleased Ken that he and Bethany are getting on well. After a fun afternoon, David helps a tipsy Paul back to the flat, but Paul sends him home as Moses is due any minute. Saying he's getting his money out of the bistro, Damon tells Ed he can pay him to do some bar renovation he needs before the builder's yard is sold. Kevin takes out his anger on Abi, blaming her again for the scratch. Dee-Dee's alarmed to discover that Ed's struck a deal with Damon and urges her dad to stay well away from the man. With no sign of Moses and needing the toilet, Paul drags himself to his wheelchair but crashes to the floor. When Billy finds him, a humiliated Paul refuses his help as he's wet himself. He screams at him to get out.
Part Three: Billy refuses to leave and drags Paul to the bathroom. A flat on Tile Street that Bethany looked at proved to be too expensive. She pushes Daniel to meet her in the Rovers later, despite Daisy being there. Ed turns down Damon's offer and he guesses that Dee-Dee is behind it. Roy finds out that Abi is still being blamed for the Porsche and tells her the truth. An apologetic Moses turns up an hour late, having been caught up in a traffic jam. A thoughtful Billy goes out, saying he has an errand. Roy rushes behind Abi as she goes to the garage and tells Kevin what Cassie did. Cassie claims she's self-destructive and couldn't face the fall-out from her actions. Kevin and Abi fire her. Tyrone reports to an annoyed Evelyn that Terry only received community service. Billy returns, having organised indefinite leave for himself in order to nurse Paul full-time.
Part Four: A guilt-ridden Abi thinks Cassie should be given another chance, as many people did for her. Paul is angry with Billy for giving up his vocation without discussing it first. Bringing Bethany into the Rovers, Daniel gets Daisy to engage in a civil conversation with him. Gemma and Summer walk into a tense atmosphere in the flat. Billy breaks down as he tells Summer what happened, saying things are only going to get worse. Sarah overhears Ed telling Dee-Dee that he thinks that within Damon is a good man trying to emerge. Kevin and Abi tell Cassie she's no longer sacked, but she hides her anger when Abi makes an unfortunate remark that she's just like she used to be. Paul tells Todd that he's reached a turning point and wants to trigger his assisted dying plan.
