Plot[]

Part One: Cassie lets Hope bunk off school as a birthday treat after Tyrone refuses to give her the day off. Simon is amazed that Daniel hasn't confronted Daisy about her and Ryan. Daniel says he's satisfied that Daisy loves him and he wants to move on. Ryan is offered the job at Gym Terminal and decides to accept it. Evelyn hasn't slept for worrying about Terry Fensley's dog. Amy suggests to Cassie and Hope that they do something crazy to make the most of their day off. Daisy and Daniel overhear Ryan discussing his new job at the bistro. Daniel's horrified, having assumed that he'd go to Glasgow with Crystal and be out of their lives. Nina helps Asha at the shop so that she can work and study at the same time. Daniel borrows Simon's key to the Street Cars flat. Evelyn sees Terry at Weatherfield Precinct and warns him about leaving his dog alone in the van. He doesn't take any notice of her. Daniel lets himself into Ryan's bedroom.

Part Two: Stu suggests to Yasmeen that since Eliza won't be around, they should open Speed Daal on Christmas Day. Yasmeen's enthusiastic. Daisy congratulates Ryan on his new job. He assures her that he isn't staying in Weatherfield for her. Daniel goes to Gym Terminal and offers to pass on important information about their new recruit. Nina forgets that she's due at the cafe and rushes off when Shona texts her asking where she is. Asha's suspicions are aroused when she notices that "Rob" is the sender. Sam tells Eliza that he's got Hope a book token for her birthday. Eliza admonishes him for his boring gift and suggests getting her flowers instead. Daniel tells Daisy he's worried that they're taking what they have for granted. Cassie can only afford to take Hope for an ice cream. Hope gets an idea and offers to cover the cost. A disguised Evelyn inspects Terry's van after hearing the dog whimpering in the back. Ryan receives an e-mail from the gym saying they've rescinded his job offer.

Part Three: Leanne offers to help Sam choose which flowers to get Hope. Carla is livid at how Ryan is being treated and drags him to the gym to demand an explanation. Terry returns to his van to find his dog missing. Evelyn brings the animal to the cafe and tries to persuade Roy to shelter her until she finds a permanent home for her. Daniel reveals to Simon that he told the gym about Ryan's steroid use in order to get him fired. He's convinced that Ryan took the job to stay close to Daisy. Tyrone is furious when Hope and Cassie arrive home sporting nose studs. Finding out that Cassie let Hope skip school, he grounds Hope for a month and remonstrates with his mum for leading his daughter astray. Roy refuses to harbour the dog. Asha asks Nina if she's seeing Rob. Nina admits that "Rob" doesn't exist and she made him up to make her jealous. Asha can't believe she could be so immature. The receptionist at the gym fobs off Ryan and Carla. Cassie annoys Tyrone by refusing to accept that she's done anything wrong. They're interrupted by Evelyn who tries to convince them to keep the dog at No.9.

Part Four: Amy thinks Asha is being too hard on Nina. Ryan thinks he lost the job because of his scars. Consoling him at Victoria Gardens, Daniel suggests that he should take the DJ gig in Glasgow. Dom is an hour late picking up Eliza at Speed Daal. He's drunk when he gets there after attending his work's Christmas party, but Stu contains his disgust. Nina tells Asha that "Rob" was Shona's idea and she regretted it almost right away. Asha's reminded of her possessiveness early on in their relationship, particularly when Nina admits that she hasn't been going out with her mates all the time like she's been making out. Tyrone lies that the wifi is down in order to get out of a video call with Fiz, not wanting her to find out about Hope's nose stud and the dog-napping. He's annoyed that he has to lie to cover up for everyone else. The kids persuade him to let the dog stay at No.9 for one week. Ryan tells Crystal that he turned the gym down as he wants to leave Weatherfield. He agrees to go to Glasgow with her as a victorious Daniel listens in.
