Plot[]
Part One: Tim makes excuses for why he's sleeping on the sofa. Elaine decides to leave Weatherfield after all and arranges to stay with a friend. Having used Michael's £1,000 to place a bet, Ed's thrilled when the horse wins. Lauren assures her creditor that she's got their money and will bring it round later. Audrey asks George to organise Stephen's funeral. He turns her down as he's afraid of the backlash from the neighbours. Dee-Dee encourages Michael to ask Sarah for a second chance when he tells her how much he loved his job. Roy tells Lauren how impressed with her he is. Leanne thinks about holding a Halloween party at the bistro but Nick fears it would upset Sam because of Natasha's death. Sam insists he's fine with it and he'd like to come along. Daisy tells Lauren she's not getting another penny out of her and Ryan.
Part Two: Ed stuffs his winnings inside Michael's rucksack to hide them from Michael and Dee-Dee. Tim continues to hide his trauma from his loved ones. He's eager to return to Street Cars to take his mind off it but Steve won't let him until he's signed off. Lauren asks Daniel to tutor her in English as she wants to resit her GCSE. Daisy is furious to find her with Daniel at the flat. Michael asks Sarah if he can return to Underworld. She refuses to re-employ him as he can't be trusted. DS Swain arrives at the factory to ask more questions. Audrey is annoyed that George won't handle Stephen's funeral and tells him that Archie would have done it. Elaine says her goodbyes as Tim brings her cases out to the car. He's triggered when he opens the boot. Ed panics when he finds the rucksack isn't where he left it. Michael tells Swain that Stephen tricked him into sharing his access code. Opening his bag to hand over his laptop, Michael discovers the envelope of cash. He's tongue-tied when Swain asks him where he got it.
Part Three: Ed is horrified to see Michael being taken away in a police car. Kirk tells him he's suspected of working with Stephen to defraud Underworld. Daniel is keen to help Lauren and refuses to take payment for their lessons when she says she doesn't have much money. Daisy tries to put him off, reminding him of Lauren's past, but he insists that she be given a chance to turn her life around. Sally and Elaine realise that Tim has disappeared. George decides to do Stephen's funeral after all, telling Todd that everyone deserves a send-off no matter what they've done. He offers to do it alone when Todd expresses his disapproval. Michael is questioned at the police station, with Joel as his solicitor. Sam books a table for two at the bistro for Halloween night. Michael insists he doesn't know how the £6,000 got in his bag. He fears he'll cop for Rufus's death when Swain points out that Stephen promoted him the day after the businessman drowned. Steve finds Tim gazing forlornly at Victoria Gardens. Tim persuades his friend that he's ready to come back to work. Sally is relieved to find that he's safe. Ronnie tells the police that Michael's money came from him and Ed. Thinking it's the £2,000 they withdrew, he's shocked to hear that the amount in the bag was £6,000.
Part Four: Ronnie makes Ed admit that he used the money he gave him to place a bet. He's furious that his brother is gambling again, assuming he won't stop at one bet. Ed assures him he's quitting while he's ahead. Joel overhears them and gets the story out of the brothers. Elaine leaves the street. Joel shows the police Ed's betting slip to get Michael off the hook and agrees not to tell Michael where the money came from. Over a milkshake in the cafe, Sam invites Hope to accompany him to the Halloween party and suggests they have a fresh start. Hope agrees. Audrey asks George for a burial, in accordance with Stephen's wishes. George advises her to have Stephen cremated instead as his grave could become a target for vandals. She agrees. Ryan accuses Lauren of using Daniel to get at him and Daisy. She admits that she's desperate and scared and admits she's only seventeen. He offers to help if she tells him what's wrong. The police drop their investigation against Michael. He's puzzled as to why until Ed and Ronnie tell him they gave it him to him to help out financially. He's grateful. Ronnie is annoyed at being forced to lie to protect Ed and tells his brother that they're done if he gambles again.
