Plot[]

Part One: Paul gets used to his new wheelchair. He worries that he's not heard from Shelly. Asha demands that Aadi approach Courtney about contributing to the household bills. EdiRon Developments new development begins. Summer hands a happy Billy and Paul a polaroid camera for their stag do and explains that phones are banned. Bernie listens to a message from Shelly saying the latest goods are bagged up but not to call as she's not feeling great. Still searching for a replacement for Todd, George has three candidates to interview. He and Mary think Todd is looking tired under the pressure at Rest Easy. Summer visits the bistro on behalf of a worried Billy and thinks that Gemma's decorations are too over-the-top but she refuses to change them. Losing subscribers, Ryan receives a message from an Ovidz subscriber offering to pay extra for a live video. Steve and Tim look forward to watching the County match on the Rovers' new large screens that LS Waterford have installed. Ed struggles when Neil, the new site manager, suggests they bet on when the delayed digger will turn up. Jess Heywood and a colleague at No.7 and tell Bernie they’d like her to answer some questions regarding a potential fraud investigation involving Shelly.


Part Two: Interviewed at the station, Bernie denies knowing anything about the purchases, but Jess has text messages suggesting otherwise. Having been forced to down a couple of shots, Summer is more positive about the decor. Billy and Paul arrive to cheers from the attendees and the party begins. Courtney says she can't contribute to the bills as she has neither a job nor money. The digger won't arrive until tomorrow so the menfolk decamp to the Rovers for the match. Troy tells Todd that he’s promised a client a service they can’t deliver, and he’d like him to break the bad news. Todd paints on a smile, secretly dreading it. The party enjoys drinking games. Neil suggests a bet on the County game to Ed. Bernie turns up at the party with bad news for Paul.


Part Three: Paul is devastated, having been told about Shelly's death. The County supporters are disgruntled as the large TV doesn't work. Having been to a betting shop and seen the game so far, Neil tells Ed he's a mug for not placing a bet based on injury information that James gave him. Ryan accepts Carla's offer of some work at Underworld. Having come home from the cancelled party, Gemma and Chesney rip into Bernie for being reckless. Paul can't believe the one person who understood what he's going through is dead. The men watch the match on a tablet. Ed has slipped away, and Michael and Ronnie are perturbed when Neil wonders aloud if he's gone to put a bet on. Paul is further upset when Jim tells him that Shelly was on her own when she died. He decides to organise the funeral she deserved.


Part Four: Todd tells Troy he didn't do as he instructed. Finding his dad at No.3, Ed assures Michael he didn't place a bet and he fled the Rovers to get away from Neil putting temptation in front of him. Paul asks Todd to arrange the funeral but he puts him off using Rest Easy, saying they're sharks and Shuttleworth's are better. Darren serves divorce papers on Courtney. He laughs at her assertion that she and Aadi are going to live together. George mistakes Todd's news and thinks he's trying to fleece Paul with a Rest Easy funeral. Ed loses his temper with Neil when he passes him in Victoria Street and he talks again about bets. Todd finds Paul crying in Victoria Gardens. He tells him he decided again to go down the assisted dying route but swears him to secrecy.

  • Due to coverage of international football in the programme's usual Friday slot on 22nd September, the next episode was brought forward to Tuesday. This was a late change to the schedules which occurred after listings magazines had gone to press.
