Plot[]
Part One: The Gazette leads with Philip Newton's resignation from Newton & Ridley. Ronnie panics when Debbie reports that the takeover hasn't gone ahead and brewery share prices are in freefall. Jenny suggests that she and Stephen book a holiday and offers to pay. Tim spots them walking down the street arm-in-arm and warns Jenny that Stephen isn't to be trusted. Jenny wonders what the brewery's declining fortunes mean for the Rovers. Ronnie tries to convince Ed that the land project is too ambitious for them but Ed won't hear of it. Tyrone goes to Kettering to collect Hope and Ruby. Sarah hears Stephen asking Carla for time off and accuses him of planning to holiday with the Nippersnapper money. Henry tells the Rovers staff that the brewery might be sold but he's doing everything he can to stop it. An eavesdropping Ronnie encourages him to let the deal go through, suggesting that Newton & Ridley would flourish with LS Waterford's backing. Henry points out that the buyer's identity isn't public information and asks him how he knows.
Part Two: Ronnie calls it an educated guess, which Henry has unwittingly confirmed. Yasmeen leaves for Pakistan. Bernie recruits Big Garth to sell Shelly's laptops. Ronnie tries to avoid Ed until the deadline for the bids passes. Stephen catches Tim outside Redbank Apartments with an estate agent. Tim gleefully tells him that Elaine is selling the flat and wants him out immediately. Stu drops Eliza off with Dom. He's annoyed when Dom makes out he's forgotten his wallet and Eliza volunteers Stu to pay for ice cream. Dom's ears prick up when Eliza assures him that Stu can afford it as he's loaded. Evelyn agrees to look after the girls for a few hours but makes caustic remarks about Tyrone not trusting Cassie to do the job. Jenny discovers that the brewery has officially been bought out. Dev is stunned to read a text from Big Garth on Bernie's phone saying he can't wait to sample the goods. He accuses Bernie of having an affair with Garth. Ed reveals to Ronnie that he's gone ahead and put in a bid for the land. A cornered Ronnie confesses to his brother that there's no money in the business account as he used it to buy now-worthless shares in Newton & Ridley.
Part Three: Ed is devastated that the business is over before it's got started. Bernie tells Dev the truth about Shelly's laptop scam in order to convince him she isn't being unfaithful to him. Tim interrupts them rowing in the shop. Arriving home, Hope and Ruby are eager to meet Cassie but she's gone AWOL again. Henry tells Jenny that LS Waterford now owns the Rovers and a rep, Lydia Flint, will be along to put them in the picture. He can't promise Gemma that her job at the brewery is safe. Dev is appalled by Bernie getting in on Shelly's scam and calls it fraud. Sarah refuses to let Stephen use the Nippersnapper money to find somewhere to live, insisting he pays Audrey back first. Ronnie promises Ed he'll get the money back if they lose it. Dev thinks he was too hard on Bernie and calls on her with flowers. Lydia Flint arrives to inspect the Rovers.
Part Four: Dev admits he's worried Bernie could go to prison but nevertheless promises not to say anything. Debbie tells the Bailey brothers that Newton & Ridley's share price is going back up now that the sale has gone through. They're massively relieved. Lydia assures the Rovers staff that their jobs are safe and Waterford won't be making any big changes. Cassie returns and belatedly meets the girls. Evelyn is suspicious when she spins a yarn about getting on the wrong bus. Cassie's thrilled when Tyrone offers her a job manning the phone at the garage. Tim tells Paul that Bernie and Dev were arguing. Now in profit from the brewery shares, Ronnie wants to sell now but Ed's worried it'll arouse suspicion. Hearing that Stephen is homeless, Jenny offers him the Rovers' B&B room. He accepts. Ed opens the Gazette on the racing page.
