Plot[]
Part One: It's Manchester Pride and Summer, Asha and Nina have planned to dress up for the party. Paul has to be persuaded to enter into the full spirit of the event. Ryan receives a message from a man called Guy offering to pay for some private photos. He takes his top off and, carefully hiding his scars, takes some pictures. Todd sets off for Mrs Beetham's funeral to angry looks from George. Gemma and Bernie turn up at the flat to collect Billy and Paul for the Pride parade, only for Melody Luton, Paul's occupational therapist to text to say that she's on her way to see him now. Lily opens her birthday presents whilst David and Shona congratulate Max on passing his GCSE's. Paul is reluctant to speak to Melody and she has to gently push him to open up to her about his condition. Carla worries about Underworld needing a European distributor. In front of Carla, Beth asks Ryan why he's stopped posting fitness pictures, leading Carla to wonder where his cash is coming from. Melody has to stop Billy constantly speaking up on Paul's behalf but agrees with him that it is probably time for Paul to have a wheelchair.
Part Two: Once Melody has gone, Paul has to remind Billy that it's his condition to deal with and he has to mentally adjust to his deterioration in his own time whereas Billy says he needs to anticipate his fiancé's needs. The two row about their differing attitudes. Guy messages Ryan, offering him £100 for a video of his full body and face. Sarah offers to contact Angelique and Owen and see if they want to branch out into Europe. Todd is shocked when Troy tells him to cash in on the family's grief by flogging them a more expensive urn on the day of the funeral. The Rovers is decorated for a Pride party. Stephen invites Jenny to join him at a wine tasting event that afternoon. David finds Paul drinking vodka in Victoria Street on his own. He refuses to talk to him. A busy George sets off to meet a client about a wake. Mary offers to go with him and take notes. George is dubious about her help. David tells Billy and Gemma about Paul. Ryan reads a derogatory comment online about his scarred body. Carla urges him to ignore it, but clearly fuelled by testosterone, Ryan loses his temper. Hurling a glass across the room, Ryan rages at her. Peter rushes in and has to pull him away from his wife.
Part Three: Peter tells Ryan if he can't keep his temper, he should move out. Ryan rushes out, leaving Peter and Carla struggling to understand what's happening. Billy, Gemma and Bernie set out to look for Paul. David reminds Stephen about Lily's birthday party. Jenny isn't pleased to hear that their plans have changed. Todd manages to persuade Mr Beetham into considering the purchase of an urn. Audrey continues to get letters about the equity release on her house. The Platts are amused when Stephen brings Jenny to the party. A drunk Paul returns, in the company of three drag queens. They go into the Rovers. Peter packs Ryan's things, intent on throwing him out, but misses his steroid supplies when Carla distracts him as she remonstrates with him on his actions. The drag queens liven up the Rovers as Billy, Gemma and Bernie tell Paul he's been selfish. Summer, Asha and Nina turn up dressed as characters from The Golden Girls, Paul's favourite programme. He gets upset that it will be his last ever Pride and tells Billy to leave when he refuses to understand that he needs to try and enjoy himself.
Part Four: Mary goes to the Rovers' party dressed as Marlene Dietrich and gets upset when people don't recognise who she is supposed to be. George tells Glenda that Mary is too upbeat for the funeral business. When Todd makes out that he's enjoying his new job, George pretends that Mary's a natural at undertaking. Lily is presented with her birthday cake at her party. To her surprise, Jenny enjoys herself within the rumbustious family. Gemma helps Paul home. He admits that the drag queens brought him back when he had another fall and couldn't get up again. Todd tells Billy that he's obtained a stairlift and sees he's upset. He offers him a shoulder to cry on. Ryan returns to the flat and bursts into tears over his actions as Carla comforts him. Peter forgives him but warns him about acting that way again. Paul overhears Billy telling Todd that he only forgave him for what he did with Zac Mayers because he's sick and tells Billy not to hang around for his sake.
