Plot[]

Part One: Lauren doesn't turn up for her shift at the cafe. Roy worries that she's sleeping rough and leaves a message for Shona asking after her. Peter taunts Stephen with the fact that Carla is returning to the factory and he'll be surplus to requirements. Evelyn sends word to Tyrone that she won't be returning for the girls' Summer Spectacular. Refusing to impose on James Woodgate any longer, Evelyn moves Cassie into the flat above the charity shop. Ryan despairs when he discovers the vials of steroids under his bed have leaked. Carla urges him to go out and meet Alya for lunch, keen to get him out of his bedroom. Cassie is impatient to meet Tyrone, Hope and Ruby now that she's clean but Evelyn puts her off, not trusting her to stay off the drugs. Cassie convinces her to let her go out and grab a coffee. Ronnie shows Ed a property ripe for EdiRon Developments's first development project. Ed's reluctant as it's a big job that wouldn't show any return for years. Ronnie criticises his brother's lack of ambition. Cassie doesn't return from her coffee trip. Evelyn discovers she's taken money from her purse. Glenda sets up Little Big Shotz' Summer Spectacular at the bistro. As the parents take their seats, Cassie arrives.

Part Two: Carla takes back the reins at the factory. Stephen and Michael worry about their job security when she announces that normal service will be resumed. Ryan has lunch with Alya but doesn't eat anything. Shona tells Roy that Lauren didn't spend the night at No.8. He fills her in on the previous day's events. Ruby is nervous about performing her solo so Hope starts her off. The show is a big success. Cassie re-introduces herself to Tyrone. He still thinks she's James Woodgate's friend Cath. Stephen threatens to tell people what Peter did if he carries on badmouthing him. Cassie tells Tyrone that Evelyn has been helping her through a hard time. Lauren shows up at No.8 to pick up her things. Max tries to convince her to stay, and is shocked when Shona arrives and asks Lauren why she came onto Roy. Stephen meets Lou at the Rovers to discuss the Nippersnapper contract. She reveals that the meeting was a pretext and accuses him of stealing the tie pin. A breathless Evelyn bursts into the bistro just in time to hear Cassie reveal to Tyrone that she's his mum.

Part Three: Evelyn confirms to Tyrone that 'Cath' is really Cassie. Unable to process the news, he walks out of the bistro. Stephen suggests to Lou that she's making up conspiracy theories to give herself peace of mind. She's unconvinced. Lauren tells Max and Shona that she wanted to repay Roy for his kindness. Embarrassed by the whole affair, she says goodbye to the pair and leaves. Roy encourages Tyrone to sit down with Evelyn and Cassie and flesh things out. Tyrone can't get past the fact that Evelyn knew Cassie was alive and didn't tell him. Stephen tells Carla he failed to persuade Lou to extend the contract. Evelyn apologises to Tyrone for the way he found out but he's more interested in how long she's known. She admits she learned Cassie was alive in September when a social worker friend encountered her in Warrington. She explains that she kept Tyrone and his family out of it so their lives weren't messed up. Tyrone is astonished that she lived with him for months and didn't say anything. Cassie is equally upset to learn that she missed Tyrone's wedding day but Tyrone refuses to let her call him "son". He angrily asks Evelyn if she ever knew for a fact that Cassie was dead.

Part Four: Evelyn admits that she merely presumed her daughter had died when she went years without hearing from her. Mother and daughter argue about Tyrone's birth, with Cassie insisting that the responsibility of raising Tyrone would have been the wake-up call she needed to stay off the drugs, and Evelyn countering that Tyrone would have been dead if she'd let her keep him. Peter isn't taken in by Stephen's nice guy act and refuses his and Carla's entreaties to let sleeping dogs lie. Lauren apologises to Roy before she leaves. He tells her her job at the cafe is still there if she wants it. Tyrone turns his anger towards Cassie for never getting touch. She evades his question about how long she's been back in the UK. Tyrone refuses to have any more secrets and tells Hope and Ruby that the woman they saw at the bistro is his mum. Lauren sneaks back into No.8 and takes the salon keys. She phones Roy and agrees to return to the cafe. Tyrone decides that he's better off with just Fiz and the girls and orders both Cassie and Evelyn out.
