Plot[]
Part One: Gemma tells Chesney she has another cider promo today, assuring him that Henry won't be there. Jenny books a valuation with the developer. Daisy is upset to see her stepmum so defeated. Carla ropes Stephen into meeting a potential buyer for her share of the factory. Lauren rejects a call from her dad but admits to Max that she's missing him. Steve and George set up a crowdfunding page in the hope of saving the Rovers. Gemma's thoughtful when George suggests to that, given her history with Henry, she could use her womanly wiles to change his mind about buying the place. A dishevelled Adam returns from a night out and suggests that he was with a woman in a bid to make Sarah jealous. Stephen's mind isn't on the job as he keeps checking his phone for updates on Rufus's inquest. Gemma arrives at the Chariot Square Hotel to find that the promo was a ruse and Henry has hired out the bar to be alone with her. She asks him if he'll reconsider buying the Rovers, encouraging him to follow his heart. He agrees to try and persuade Philip Newton.
Part Two: George tells Bernie that Gemma is trying to talk Henry round. Chesney overhears and realises his wife lied to him about not seeing Henry. He heads off to the hotel to confront her. Eliza tells Sam how happy she is to have found her dad but that she's worried about how her mum will react. Stu calls Bridget and tells her about Eliza contacting Dom. She tells him in no uncertain terms to keep her daughter away from him. Shona thinks Lauren needs a job to keep her occupied. Henry wins Philip over by offering to take on the Rovers as his personal project. Chesney walks in as he and Gemma are having a celebratory hug. The client decides not to buy Carla's share. Lou Donahue turns up at the bistro. Chesney convinces himself that Gemma and Henry are having an affair. Henry is surprised to discover that Gemma is married. Chesney doesn't give the pair a chance to explain and knocks Henry to the floor with one punch.
Part Three: Gemma begs Henry not to call the police. Henry agrees, though he's shocked to learn that she has five children and suspects she suggested she was single in order to lead him on. Lou tells Stephen and Carla that the coroner found Rufus died by misadventure. Stu relays Bridget's wishes to Eliza. She's annoyed that Dom isn't being given a chance to prove he's changed. Gemma apologises to Chesney for her dishonesty and tells him that she was only trying to save the Rovers. Lou doesn't think Rufus's death stacks up as he always used drugs in moderation. Stephen encourages her to accept the inquest's findings and move on. Gav encourages Max to kick Lauren out. Stu leaves Dom a message telling him to stay away from Eliza. Yasmeen warns him to tread carefully as Dom might take his fight to the courts. Henry texts Gemma saying the deal's off. Jenny's touched by the community's efforts when the crowdfunder raises £600 in a day. Chesney feels bad for blundering in and arranges to meet Henry at Victoria Gardens.
Part Four: Chesney apologises to Henry for jumping to conclusions and asks him to reconsider buying the Rovers. He tells him about Paul's MND and the toll its having on Gemma. Henry agrees to think about it. The developer puts in an offer on the Rovers. Shona persuades Roy to give Lauren a trial shift at the cafe. Lauren's thrilled but nervous as she's never had a job before. Dom ignores Bridget's wishes and turns up at No.6 looking for Eliza. Stu's in the middle of physically throwing him out when Eliza walks in and sticks up for Dom. Dom leaves when Stu threatens to call the police. Henry tells Gemma he'll buy the Rovers if she comes to work for him full-time at Newton & Ridley as his personal assistant. He insists their relationship would be professional and explains that it was the news of Paul's MND that swayed him. Knowing that Chesney would never accept it, she asks for time to think about it.
