Plot[]

Part One: Stephen plans to stage a hiking accident in the Peak District. Aadi's suited and booted for his new job. He accepts Amy's invitation to go to a charity gala later. Stephen and Elaine set off for the Peaks via No.8. Elaine looks through old family photos with the Platts and is shocked to see one of Gabrielle Reid, recognising her from Stephen's video call with the Seagull rep. She realises Stephen has been lying to her. Toyah's sad that her relationship with Spider is ending on such a sour note. Stephen's behaviour reminds Elaine of Geoff. Too scared to get into the car with him, she pretends she has to get something from the Co-op. A disgruntled Rita slams The Kabin keys down on the table, refusing to cover for Brian any more. Isabella appropriates them, thinking she's doing her cousin a good turn. A panicking Elaine bumps into Tim at Victoria Gardens and tells him he was right about Stephen. They head up to the flat to find out what else Stephen is hiding. Prising open a metal box Stephen keeps his documents in, they find the life insurance letter with Elaine's forged signature on it.

Part Two: Brian sees Isabella off when she and Mary row at The Kabin. Rita notices Brian's wistful gaze at Mary and realises he has feelings for her. Brian admits he can't get her out of his head. Elaine realises Stephen is after her money and decides to leave him. Dev, Asha and Amy are amused to see Aadi chauffeuring Darren around. Isabella catches Brian on the phone to her builder trying to hurry him along. Leanne can't face fixing a broken Toyah again and asks Spider to leave on better terms with her. Aadi tries to talk about Dev's desire to invest, but can't as Darren spends all day on the phone. Isabella makes Brian admit that he wants her to go and bursts into tears, telling him he's the only friend she has. Stephen looks for Elaine at the flat and finds Tim packing a bag for his mum. Tim tells him they know all about the life insurance and his lies about Gabrielle. Stephen is enraged and calls him a pathetic, small man. Goaded, Tim grabs Stephen and shoves him against the metal staircase. Stephen screams at him to get out. Max coldly breaks the news to Lauren that Reece has been sentenced to 18 years. Nursing a head injury, Stephen stumbles out into Victoria Street and collapses.

Part Three: David emerges from the barbers and calls an ambulance for his uncle. Isabella calls Brian a snake. Mary comes to his aid, making out that she and Brian are in love and he's asked her to move in with him. Tim doesn't mention the scuffle with Stephen to Elaine. Shona tells Max to put his hatred for Reece aside and support Lauren. She changes her tune when Lauren gets at the lad for not making the statement defending Reece. A defeated Isabella agrees to leave Weatherfield tomorrow. Gail plans a surprise birthday party for Audrey. David informs the Platts that Stephen is in hospital. Spider calls on Toyah to pick up his things. Aadi has to cancel his date with Amy to pick up Darren's wife Courtney from an event. She makes him take her for a kebab and flirts with him. Tim admits that he gave Stephen a shove when Sally tells the Metcalfes that the latter was found unconscious.

Part Four: Stephen has surgery for a possible bleed on the brain. Elaine rejects calls from Gail as Gail tries to alert her as to what's happened. Toyah returns her engagement ring to Spider. Lauren's distraught at losing her dad, as she has no one else. Max says she has him. Craig takes a witness statement off David. The Platts wonder why Elaine isn't at her fiancé's side. Returning home, Aadi receives a text from Courtney, thanking him for the kebab and saying it'll be their secret. Toyah walks Spider to the tram station, sorry to see him go but at peace with his departure. He gives her a spider brooch to remember him by and they say goodbye to each other. Craig arrives at No.4 and reveals that the police have CCTV of Tim leaving the flat just before Stephen's collapse. Tim is arrested under suspicion of GBH.
