Plot[]

Part One: Max decides to risk telling Bec about his past. Roy tells Evelyn he feels fit enough to take Freddie off her hands. She hides her upset. Dee-Dee finds Adam trawling through Paul's file looking for dirt on Damon and snatches it back, saying it's better for everyone's sake that he leaves it be. Damon books an appointment with the head of the Weatherfield Market Association to discuss the pitch for the bistro. Yasmeen tries to find someone to go with her to a reading of Mary Barton as Stu isn't interested. Dev and Paul agree that Bernie is spreading herself too thinly so Paul invites the pair over for dinner at the flat. Max goes with Bec to the park and chickens out of telling her about himself. Adam questions Paul about the car theft scam and gets Niall's name out of him. Paul warns him that he's bad news.

Part Two: Roy picks Freddie up from No.9. Damon's meeting about the market stall goes well. Debbie finds out who catfished Ryan from Carla and offers him her support. A calmer Ryan is keen to make things up with Daisy as the bad blood is stressing him out. Paul's leg gives way when he disembarks the bus with his shopping. Bernie rushes over to help him after the passengers ignore him, thinking he's drunk. Alya sees Bec kissing Max goodbye and approaches her once they've parted ways. Max is crushed when Bec asks him when he was planning to tell her he's a terrorist. Sarah plans a romantic dinner with Adam, their first since they got back together. Adam finds out who Niall is and arranges a meeting with him at the Footbridge Inn. Arriving there, he tells Niall that Damon is planning to throw him under the bus.

Part Three: Adam warns Niall that Damon is going to tell the police about his involvement in the car insurance scam in exchange for a reduced sentence on an assault charge. Niall is taken in. Bec accuses Max of dating her to make people think he isn't a racist. Damon's pop-up restaurant proposal convinces Nick and Leanne that the scheme will be a money-maker. Paul refuses to see Dr Gaddas about his fall as she'll just tell him what he already knows. Bernie persuades him to give crystal therapy a try. Max begs Bec for another chance. She refuses as she can't look at him in the same way now. Roy complains to Evelyn that Freddie was disengaged when he walked him. She tells him the dog is very particular about where he's walked. Daisy and Daniel look up flats in Didsbury. Ryan goes into the Rovers to make it up with Daisy but sours when he sees her cracking open a bottle of wine with Jenny to celebrate their possible flat move. David suggests to Max that he do something to show Bec that he's changed. Adam tells Damon that Niall believes he's informing on him.

Part Four: Damon threatens to tear Adam apart unless he calls Niall back and sets him straight. Adam laughs off the threat. Evelyn makes up some maps for Roy to use to walk Freddie. Roy agrees to join Yasmeen at the book reading and gets Evelyn to mind Freddie. Ryan tells Debbie that Daisy's already gotten over what she did to him. Damon collects his things from the bistro before doing a runner. Billy's unimpressed to find Paul with crystals all over his head. Having went along with it to humour his mother, Paul asks the pair to respect the fact that he's not interested in crystals or religion. Damon sends a voicemail to Sarah, telling her he has to leave for a while because Adam set him up. Max receives a call from Gav but doesn't answer it. Roy suggests to Evelyn that they work out a cooperative care agreement for Freddie, as he's clearly more settled at No.9. Evelyn agrees to consider it. Adam deletes Damon's voicemail from Sarah's phone before she gets the chance to hear it. He smiles victoriously to himself.

Notes[]

  • The Footbridge Inn, where Adam Barlow meets Niall Granger, was in reality the New Oxford in Bexley Square, Salford. The scene of Damon Hay exiting his flat was recorded just across the road from the pub, with Ciaran Griffiths seen leaving the old Town Hall from the side entrance.
  • A by-stander who witnesses Paul Foreman falling off the 63 bus and accuses him of being drunk was uncredited. She was played by the real-life mother of Peter Ash, who played Paul.
  • Andy Merchant was the stunt co-ordinator for the aforementioned scene in 10987.
  • TV Times synopsis: Adam sets out to wreak his revenge on Damon; Roy reclaims Freddie from Evelyn; and Bernie persuades Paul to try her crystal therapy.
  • Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast: 4,427,000 viewers (3rd place).
