Plot[]
Part One: Elaine badgers Tim into helping her move into 6 Redbank Apartments as Stephen has to work. Sarah confides in Audrey how she loves Adam and threw it away for a stupid fling. Audrey urges her to tell him how she feels. The scaffolding is removed from the outside of No.1. Steve urges Amy not to stress over their financial situation. Aggie insists that Dee-Dee joins her at Yvette's charity auction. Ed suggests she plays safe and bids only on a cheap item. Max calls Gav and confirms that he tracked down Bec. Gav asks him to tell her how sorry he is and to persuade her to take his calls. Owen wants a business lunch with Stephen who insists they have it at the bistro rather than the Rovers. Owen begs Jenny to tell him why she's so annoyed with him. Adam apologises to Dee-Dee and reinstates her. Sarah begs Adam for a chance to talk to him. Owen strides over to Stephen and reveals that after a frank discussion with Jenny, they’d both like to know why he told them each a pack of lies about each other.
Part Two: As Stephen scratches about for a plausible reason, Owen tells him that once he takes over the factory, he's fired. Sarah begs Adam to give her another chance. When Adam refuses, Sarah turns the tables, suggesting he’s partially to blame as he was always at work. Aggie, Sally and Dee-Dee attend the auction in a brightly-decorated bistro attended by Yvette's snobby, rich friends at which the starting bids are expensive. Bec visits Max at his request but his attempts to talk about Gav are interrupted by Audrey who mentions how awful Lauren was. Bec is intrigued. A desperate Stephen warns Carla against selling the factory but she insists that she has to for the sake of her mental health. Adam consults Ken who likens their marriage to that of his own to Deirdre and urges him not to throw in the towel. Tim asks Steve for an explanation about a letter that's been dropped off at Street Cars about the sale of his share of the business. Under pressure from Yvette, Aggie bids £3,000 for a summerhouse, expecting to be outbid. She’s horrified when Yvette brings down the hammer and declares it sold. Feeling intensely stressed, Stephen has a meltdown at work and screams at everyone to leave. He then trashes the factory floor. Walking out of the toilets to witness his meltdown, Michael wonders what's going on.
Part Three: Stephen tells Michael that Owen plans to fire him. Steve comes clean to a sympathetic Tim about Amy being sued by Eric and Aaron. Max is cautious about telling Bec about Lauren. She's not interested in talking about Gav and makes it clear she fancies Max. Dee-Dee comes to Aggie's rescue and claims that planning permission rules don't allow them to erect a summerhouse on their "paddock". Adam asks Sarah for a talk. Jenny rips into Stephen for what he said, knowing full well he was jealous of her and Owen. Not knowing that Dee-Dee works there, Yvette asks the solicitors for legal advice about her and Patrick's "liquidity issues". Dee-Dee overhears and delights in offering her services to her mum's "skint" friend. Jenny makes it clear to Stephen that even if there was an attraction before, nothing is going to happen while he's with Elaine.
Part Four: Carla tells Stephen that she will sell to someone else rather than Owen if he can find someone. Yvette comes clean to Dee-Dee that they're broke and living in the Chariot Square Hotel. Dee-Dee tells her that her parents are in the same financial situation and Yvette promises to handle the matter of the summerhouse for them. Adam and Sarah reach an understanding and agree to give things another go, though he insists on sleeping on the sofa. Unpacking in their new flat, Stephen suggests again to Elaine that they should buy Carla’s share of the business. When Elaine snaps at him and spells out that she will never invest a penny in the factory and they should simply enjoy their retirement, Stephen masks his fury. Steve refuses Amy's offer to use her inheritance to pay for the lawyers. Max is flattered when Bec tells him to call her. Elaine and Stephen apologise to each other. He reminds her that she's forgotten to take her blood pressure tablets. Behind her back, he tips them down the sink and replaces them with high-caffeine pills. Adam tells Damon to keep away but he laughs at his threats.
