Plot[]
Part One: Billy summons Todd to the flat so that he and Summer can hear about Paul's news at the same time. Likewise, Chesney and Gemma tell a tearful Joseph about the diagnosis. He's heartbroken. Daniel has to calm Daisy's fears down on the first day of Justin's trial. An equally nervous Ryan continues to swap messages with "Crystal". Nina is surprised when the cafe door is left unlocked overnight and Freddie is missing. She and Roy dash out to look for him. Before she goes back to Portugal, Linda speaks to Joseph who has hidden himself away in his room. Paul prepares to see if he's suitable for Tofersen treatment. Evelyn joins in the search for Freddie, realising that Roy isn't coping well with his heart situation. Roy comes across Summer in tears and finds out that Paul has also been hiding his health news from everyone. A sympathetic Ed offers Paul admin work. As Ryan leaves for court, a guilt-ridden Karen approaches him and admits that she passed on what she gleaned about Daisy’s history of manipulation to Justin’s lawyer. She explains that she needed not to let her brother down again, but he's devastated by the admission. The trial begins with the opening statements. Suffering a panic attack, Ryan returns to the flat as Carla texts him to find out where he is.
Part Two: Billy accompanies Paul to his appointment with the MND specialist. Bernie barges in, insisting on joining them. They're told that there is no chance for the Tofersen treatment and Paul has to quieten a complaining Bernie. Given pause for thought by Summer, Roy admits to Evelyn that keeping secrets from loved ones is damaging. The trial has to be adjourned as Ryan has not turned up. Paul's family and friends take in the news about the treatment. Gemma and Chesney hand over their honeymoon booking to Billy and her brother so they can spend time together. Roy tells a stunned Nina about his heart condition. Daisy calls at the flat where Ryan reveals that Karen was spying on them. Paul agrees to go on the honeymoon. Roy hands Evelyn a stack of letters for her to distribute should he die. Daisy begs Ryan to reconsider as without his evidence, Justin could walk free, but he tells her that the truth is that she is a manipulative cow and he's suffered enough already when standing up for her.
