Plot[]
Part One: Initially in denial, Bernie accuses of Paul of trying to wreck Gemma's wedding day, but when her son breaks down as he tells them about his MND, she too cries as she hugs him. The two women are devastated. As Karen eats a Rovers hotpot, Daniel warns Daisy to be careful of her. Karen can't understand why Justin was under the delusion that he stood a chance with her. Ryan and Carla arrive at the pub and Karen senses the tension between the scarred victim and Daisy. Paul insists the wedding do goes on and the three of them put on a good show. Evelyn tries to reassure Roy as he waits for news of Freddie and persuades him to call the hospital. Paul, Bernie and Gemma come back into the room for the bride and groom's dance. They try to put on a good show. Billy is proud of Paul for coming clean when he finds out but Chesney senses something is wrong with his wife. Carla upbraids Karen for staring at Ryan across the bar. When Daisy tries to defend her, and Daniel says she's a victim too, Carla accuses her of causing the situation by leading men down the garden path and Ryan points out that she split up him and Alya. They storm out as Karen's mind turns over at what she's heard.
Part Two: Roy is told that his stent operation is being brought forward to the end of the week. He's still determined to tell Nina that he's going to Rhyl on a break. Chesney tries to wring out of Gemma what's wrong with her. Paul steps in and makes her join him in a karaoke duet. The ruse works and Gemma smiles as she sings with her twin. Billy assures Bernie they're going to find all the happiness they can in the days that they have left. Daisy calls to see Ryan but Carla won't let her into the flat. The happy wedding party continues. Linda gets drunk and drapes herself over Bernie with a hug. Daisy thinks she's a terrible person as she admits to Daniel that she did split up Ryan and Alya. They tell Ken they're confident about Justin's trial tomorrow. Back at No.5, a shocked Chesney is told about Paul's diagnosis. They find out about a trial treatment to slow down the development and Paul agrees to give it his best shot to have as many years as can over the prognosis. The family has a group hug.
