Plot[]
Part One: On the morning of the wedding, Gemma, Bernie and Izzy get ready at No.5. Bernie assures a depressed Gemma that Paul will walk her down the aisle. Joseph overhears them. Billy tries unsuccessfully to persuade Paul to attend. Having spent the wedding eve at No.9, Chesney is put out to find out that Fiz isn't coming as Cilla has broken her collar bone, as Kirk is stuck in Milton Keynes after an accident in the Underworld van. Joseph calls at the flower shop flat and tears into Paul for breaking Gemma's heart. Daisy can't bring herself to attend, bearing in mind how her own wedding day turned out. Joseph's words have changed Paul's mind and Billy helps him get ready. Nina reveals to Evelyn that Roy's sleepwalking again. Gemma panics that she's lost Joseph but all are happy when they see him approaching down the street with Paul, suited and booted. Roy panics when he discovers that he's got the time of Freddie's castration operation wrong, and he's expected now. Daisy is shocked when Karen Rutherford turns up in the Rovers. Gemma walks down the aisle in a bright orange dress complete with internal flashing lights. Paul hobbles by her side and Gemma notices a look of concern shared between Billy and her brother.
Part Two: With signing provided by Lisa Layton, the vows and expressions of love are exchanged. Karen tells Daisy how sorry she is for Justin's attack and how she hopes he’ll be sent down. At the reception, Paul suddenly realises that he hasn't prepared a speech. Linda reveals to Dev that she met most of the wedding expenses. Bernie isn't pleased to see the two of them getting on so well and finds out about Linda's money. Roy and Evelyn return from having dropped Freddie off and thus missing the ceremony. Nina wonders why the hospital rang for her uncle while he was away. Roy erupts in anger when Evelyn begins to fuss over him. Bernie delights in telling Gemma how Linda paid for everything and is furious when Gemma thanks Linda. A wedding cake fight breaks out between the two women which ends when Debbie gets splattered. Paul makes an extemporaneous speech. but his emotions overwhelm him, and he runs out of the room. Gemma follows and finds him in tears. Bernie joins them as Paul admits he's dying.
