Plot[]
Part One: Billy wonders why Paul is pushing everyone away. Daisy awaits the outcome of Justin's hearing for assaulting her at Victoria Gardens. She tells Ken and Daniel that she'll never relax until he's behind bars. Craig is lost without Faye. Paul tells Dee-Dee he's not going to the wedding as he can't walk properly. Bernie is furious that Paul upset Gemma and marches over to the flat to confront her son. He ignores the buzzer. Billy thinks Dee-Dee knows more than she's letting on and begs her to tell him what's wrong with Paul. He thinks Paul regrets getting back with him.
Part Two: Paul is a no-show at Weatherfield Magistrates Court. Damon finds him feeling sorry for himself at Victoria Gardens. Daisy considers visiting Ryan after work but Debbie tells her he doesn't want to see her. Isabella tells Brian she can't wait for him to visit her in Naples but makes it clear that there's only room for one guest. Damon encourages Paul not to throw away what time he has left. Sally invites Craig over to No.4 later for a Mexican supper, hoping that he and Tim can cheer each other up. Isabella tells Brian that the builders renovating her flat have discovered subsidence and it's not safe for her to return. Daisy hears that Justin pleaded guilty to the assault but the sentencing has been paused until after next week's trial for the acid attack. Freddie runs off while being walked at the precinct. Roy suffers a pain in his chest while chasing after the dog. Evelyn is on hand to grab Freddie and call an ambulance. Paul belatedly arrives in court; luckily, the magistrate was stuck in traffic so his absence wasn't noticed. Unbeknown to Paul, Billy too arrives at the courthouse.
Part Three: Paul is stunned to see Billy sitting down in the gallery. Gemma finds a tear in Joseph's wedding suit. Roy has his blood taken at the hospital. Daisy worries that Justin thinks he has a case as he's pleading not guilty to the acid attack. Daniel assures her he's just trying to get into her head. The magistrate reads out the mitigating circumstances in Paul's case and hands down a suspended sentence, asserting that it's in no one's interests to send him to prison with MND. Billy is devastated to hear that his boyfriend is a dying man. The doctor tells Roy he has angina. He's booked in to have a stent fitted. Evelyn insists that he tells Nina without delay. Paul thinks Dee-Dee told Billy about the court case but he admits he went through his things and found a letter from the court. Paul tells Billy that they don't have a future but Billy takes him in his arms and vows not to let him push him away.
Part Four: Sally finds Tim and Craig excitedly planning to build a garden bar at No.4. Mary still believes Isabella sabotaged George's model ship. Isabella tells her she's a part of Brian's life whether she likes it or not. Roy doesn't tell Nina about the operation as it's low-risk and she'd only worry. Evelyn agrees to take Freddie in for a few days while he's having the op. Paul confesses everything to Billy about stealing Rufus's car and his diagnosis. He insists he's not going to be a burden to anyone. Billy's in tears listening to his story. Daisy sends Ryan another text from 'Crystal'. Bernie tells Paul she'll never forgive him if he doesn't go to the wedding. Paul still refuses to attend, telling Billy he wants Gemma to remember it as a special day and not see her dying brother.
