Plot[]
Part One: Sarah apologises to Adam for interfering in the late licence application. Debbie rips into Carla when she finds out that Ryan has gone for his check-up on his own. To prove that they’re putting Ryan first, Carla tells her that she and Peter have cancelled a holiday in Scotland they had booked to be able to look after him instead. David tells Gail that Max might be being considered for early release, but he doesn’t want him to get his hopes up. Stephen is annoyed to see Owen flirting with Jenny on the street. He intercepts the post to prevent Elaine seeing a letter about the life insurance policy. Prompted by Adam, Sarah starts to apologise to Nick and Leanne, but quickly changes her tune, telling them that their late licence idea is a terrible one. Billy overhears a conversation between Dee-Dee and Trish about MND funding and steps in to ask a question, but a startled Dee-Dee claims he’s interfering in client confidentiality to put him off the scent that they’re talking about Paul. Damon promises Paul that he’ll have the cash just as soon as he can lay his hands on it. As Paul heads off with Bernie and Gemma to go wedding dress shopping, Damon calls Niall and tells him the plan is on.
Part Two: Jenny puts up Coronation bunting in the Rovers. Nick calls at the pub and tells the locals that there will be a meeting at 2pm in the bistro to air their opinions on the late licence but when Gail asserts that she has no objection to it, Nick’s left baffled. Paul and Bernie are appalled at the prices of the wedding dresses. Gemma finds one she loves. Paul takes pictures in the hope the Underworld staff can knock up a cheap copy, but the shop assistant catches them red-handed. Max is despondent when David visits him. The assistant demands that Paul deletes the photos on his phone. Damon rings Paul to make an appointment to see him. Ryan finds out about the holiday and Carla has to assure him that cancelling it wasn’t due to him. Paul meets Damon at the precinct. Despite himself, Damon’s moved when Paul tells him about his deteriorating condition. Stephen tries to interrogate Owen about himself and Jenny. Nick tells Sarah that Gail has no objection to the late licence and wonders why his sister lied to him. Damon loses his temper with Paul’s mixture of begging and threats. Pushing him up against a wall, he tells him the danger he is in from Niall. With the gangster due to arrive at any moment, Damon tells him to leave now.
Part Three: Niall and his brother arrive just after Paul scarpers. Niall demands Paul’s name and address and makes it clear that Damon is in the firing line if he doesn’t comply. With the meeting to discuss the late licence about to start, Nick and Leanne wonder where Damon has got to. Carla is pleased to find Ryan up and about. He tries to get her to change her mind and go on her holiday. At their English class, Daniel tries to get Max, his friend Gav Adetiba and the others interested in composing their own journals. While Brian, Evelyn and Ken fire awkward questions about noise pollution at Nick, Leanne tries in vain to get hold of Damon whilst sugaring up the attendees with free drinks. Daniel gets exasperated with his pupil’s lack of interest. While his back is turned by two lads starting a fight, Max steals his phone. Paul is astonished to see that Damon has been given a beating. Dee-Dee sees their exchange.
Part Four: Damon finally appears in the bistro with a story to explain his injuries. Sarah wonders what really happened. Having been persuaded by Ryan, Carla goes on her Scotland trip. Ryan rings Crystal and leaves a message on her phone. Stephen puts Jenny off Owen by lying to her that he has a history of being a sleezebag. Pushed by Paul, Damon tells him what happened with Niall and his brother. He’s astonished that someone would do something for him like that. Gemma’s depressed that she’s missed out on her dream dress, but is cheered up when Paul finds photos of the one she liked in his deleted files. Daniel is annoyed that he lost his phone as he wasn’t supposed to use it in his classes. Sarah asks Damon not to get Nick and Leanne involved in whatever caused his injuries. He’s annoyed that she’s thinking the worst of him. Demanding answers from Paul, Dee-Dee hears the truth of his blackmail attempt. She’s annoyed that he seems to be sabotaging every attempt that she’s making to keep him out of prison and warns him that his only option might be to plead guilty.
