Plot[]
Part One: Paul is kept at the police station overnight. Stu receives an e-mail confirming that Eliza can start at Weatherfield High after half-term. Yasmeen suggests they throw a birthday party for her. The police check the local CCTV footage and see Paul driving Rufus's car miles from the house some time before a colleague claims to have spoken to the businessman. He's charged with car theft and released. Audrey presses Stephen to buy himself a car instead of borrowing hers all the time. Elaine defends Stephen and is annoyed when he promises to look into it. Eileen hasn't had any sleep because of George tossing and turning all night. George admits he's worried about their competitor, Rest Easy, who are undercutting their prices. A hung-over Aaron sees the writing on his forehead in his reflection as he heads into work. He covers it with his fringe as he nips home to wash it off. Amy receives a letter from the uni advising her that she's behind on her work. Ripping it up, she sees a vodka bottle on the sideboard.
Part Two: Eileen advises George to find a hobby but he tells her his work is his life. Stu asks Tyrone if Hope will invite some of her school friends to Eliza's party. Paul lies to Billy that he drank too much and crashed at Dee-Dee's flat last night. Stephen learns that Owen and Angelique will be visiting the factory to oversee the first Nippersnapper order. He's in the middle of telling the staff to pull out all the stops when the power goes out. Summer finds Amy passed out in Victoria Gardens and calls an ambulance. Dee-Dee accompanies Paul to his appointment with the MND specialist. Aaron confronts Aadi for leading him on last night. Aadi says he assumed he'd be okay with it, just like he did with Amy. The specialist confirms that Paul has limb onset motor neurone disease. Paul is stunned to learn that he could have as little as three years to live.
Part Three: Paul bursts into tears in Dee-Dee's car. The power comes back on in the factory after a few minutes. Tracy and Steve rush to A&E where they learn that Amy passed out from excess alcohol. Summer explains to them that Aaron did rape her. Hope convinces Eliza to have a stretch limo party. Regaining consciousness, Amy apologises to her parents for not being honest with them, explaining that she just wanted to blot everything out. George finds reasons to dismiss all of Todd's hobby suggestions but likes Billy's idea of model ships. A pained tells Dee-Dee that he was abused as a child. He feels like he can't catch a break and is disappointed that he's achieved so little with his life. Dee-Dee offers to help him tell Billy and his family but he wants to do it by himself. Aaron shows up in Amy's hospital room.
Part Four: Amy stops Steve from hitting Aaron and orders her parents to wait outside. Stephen stays on at the factory to avoid Elaine. Aaron tells Amy he's sorry for what happened today. She invites him to confess to raping her since there's no one else around, but he still denies it. Paul puts off telling Billy about his diagnosis when he hears Summer telling him what Amy is going through. Hope tells Eliza that if she wants to be popular at her new school, she should listen to her. Eileen is taken aback when George buys a model ship that'll take months to build. Stephen cancels a dinner date with Elaine. Paul decides that he doesn't want people to know about his MND as they'll treat him differently when they do. He makes her promise not to tell anyone about that or his car theft charge. The pressure starts to get to Aaron.
