Coronation Street Wiki

Plot[]

Part One: Carla hasn't slept well but is desperate for normality and says she's going back to work. Daisy has got all of her suppliers on board again with the exception of the florist who was reluctant to commit in the first place. She and Daniel realise it means they've got to ask Tracy for help. Evelyn celebrates her 77th birthday, pretending she wants no fuss but the family see through her pretence and make her agree to a small party. Stephen tries to find out Rufus's intentions and tries to persuade Carla to return home when she arrives at the factory. Faye stresses over Miley's upcoming visit. Carla apologises to the staff for the way she spoke to them. As she goes to make a drink, she smashes a mug and cuts her finger, still feeling the effects of the drug. Adam loses another important client. Damon calls into the solicitors looking for Dee-Dee who is out meeting clients. A shaky Carla concedes she needs to see Dr Gaddas again. Stephen pockets her flat keys as Peter takes her home.

Part Two: Dee-Dee returns to the office and is not pleased to see Damon there. She tells Adam that he's the one who's been threatening Nick and throws him out. Daisy gets a cold reception from Tracy when she calls into the flower shop. She shocks Daisy when she agrees to give her discount on the flowers so long as she can be a bridesmaid. Dr Gaddas wants to refer Carla to psychiatric services but there is a backlog of several months and she will not be prioritised unless she's a danger to herself or other people. In the meantime, she recommends an extended break and to go back on her antipsychotic drugs. Evelyn invites Roy to her small birthday get-together. Daisy is now determined to have no flowers at her wedding to prevent Tracy being in the photos. Faye’s a nervous wreck as Tim ushers Jackson and Miley into the house. Peter tells Stephen what Dr Gaddas said about the chances of Carla being prioritised. Adam and Dee-Dee worry about drumming up future business and Adam suggests Damon as a client. Using the keys, Stephen enters Carla's flat and hovers over her as she sleeps in her bed.

Part Three: Leaving the bedroom, Stephen looks over the kitchen. Peter asks Roy to check in on Carla later while he fetches her prescription from the hospital. Dee-Dee’s appalled at the idea of taking Damon on as a client, but Adam points out how much they need his money. There's an awkward silence between Faye and Miley until the girl gifts her the present of a bracelet and shows her photos of their recent stay in London. Roy comes into the flat to find the grill on fire. He expertly puts it out as a shocked Carla comes out of the bedroom. Stephen makes sure the staff overhear him telling Sarah about Carla's health problems. Carla has no memory of putting the grill on. Daisy's original florist agrees to supply her, so she now has no need of Tracy's services. Daniel thinks that Tracy was possibly showing that she actually wanted to be a part of their wedding. Stephen sees Peter returning in a panic to the flat. Evelyn walks in to a "surprise" party and is delighted with her gifts from Hope and Ruby. She looks forward to Roy arriving. Carla is in tears at the damage she almost caused and the thought of her psychosis returning. She begs for Peter's help.

Part Four: Damon responds to an invitation to come to the solicitor's office and hears Adam's proposal that they represent him in his upcoming trial. Jackson offers to let Faye see Miley again. Evelyn is disappointed when Dev arrives to see her when she hoped it would be Roy. Damon takes up the offer and Dee-Dee warns Adam that he won't be able to keep their new client a secret from Nick and the family. Sean tells Stephen that the shareholder staff want him to run the factory in Carla's place. He asks them to sign a contract agreeing to it. Evelyn takes Roy to task for not turning up at the party. Tracy refuses when Daisy invites her to be a bridesmaid and tells her she was winding her up. She and Daisy admire each other's chutzpah. Damon watches from his car as Nick goes home. Peter takes Carla off to stay in a residential clinic while a satisfied Stephen celebrates his takeover alone in the manager's office.

Notable dialogue[]

Roy Cropper: "How do you intend to spend the remainder of your birthday?"
Evelyn Plummer: "Oh, well, let's see. Erm, 'course the Red Arrows will be flyin' over at about four-thirty, and then there's the Grimethorpe Colliery Band. They're goin' to be marching past the house playing a medley of " 'Appy Birthday" songs, and then the culmination, I suppose, will be, erm, Sir Cliff Richard. 'E's popping out of t'cake topless and singin' Congratulations."
