Plot[]
Len and Ray tell Stan he'd better form his own union and Ray even suggests the name - the Stanley Ogden District Union - "SODU". At the warehouse, Elsie tries to maintain high standards from checkers Ivy Tilsley and Edna Gee, particularly when Dennis Maxwell tells her that owner Sir Julius Berlin is visiting on a tour of inspection. Annie tries to matchmake between Billy and an old school friend of his and Joan's called Lorna Shawcross. Tommy Deakin tries to interest the residents in buying items from him from a catalogue. On Ken's advice, Stan renames himself the Stanley Ogden Labour Organisation - "SOLO" - and Ken also suggests that Stan consult professional unionist Charlie Dickinson. The visit from Sir Julius goes well and Maxwell suggests to Elsie that they have lunch somewhere to go over some points about work. Billy refuses to have anything to do with Lorna before she is pointed out to him by Len and he is instantly smitten by her good looks.
