Plot[]
Part One: Summer grows distant with Billy as he smothers her with love. She demands time on her own. Fiz and Tyrone read the second instalment of the book in the Gazette with horror as it speculates on how Hope will turn out with John Stape for a father. Griff finds Max bunking off school and advises him to keep David sweet, but nevertheless opines that school is useless. He invites him to another gathering at his flat. Sean is angry with Todd for ruining his friendship with Laurence but Todd is unrepentant, saying he'd do the same again. Todd tells Billy he's being self-absorbed about Summer, and he just needs to be there for when she opens up. Aaron says that his dad needs to go into rehab but it costs £10,000 at a minimum so it’s impossible. Summer thinks she has a solution. Adam advises an angry Tyrone to let him deal with the Gazette editor. They’re interrupted by a call from Hope’s teacher to tell them their daughter has gone missing. As Tracy and Daniel bicker over first use of the portaloo, Daisy tries to keep her temper as Tracy refuses to call a plumber, insisting that Arnie must fix it. Max tells David he's studying at the library after school. Summer meets up with Mike and Esther Hargrave at the private Marcroft Hospital and agrees to let them adopt her baby.
Part Two: Fiz finds Hope and Sam in Victoria Gardens. Sam explains that Hope was upset about the nasty things her classmates were saying and he brought her out of school. Nick finds Fiz remonstrating loudly at his son and says he’d appreciate it if Hope stayed away from Sam. After attending Summer’s scan, Mike assures Summer that they’ll provide her with all the emotional and financial support she needs. Accepting that they will be marvellous parents, Summer nervously says that she needs £10,000 up front, being honest about the reason. Arnie tells Daniel that No.1's roof is worse than he thought and they’ll need scaffolding up the back of the house too. In the Rovers, Laurence catches Sean trying to crack the code on his phone. Snatching his phone back, Laurence marches out leaving Sean red-faced. Tyrone returns home to find Fiz in tears and hears how Nick has banned Sam from seeing Hope. Summer meets up with Aaron and drops the bombshell that she’s still pregnant, and about the arrangement with Mike and Esther. Tyrone calls at Nick and Leanne’s flat. Nick opens the door and Tyrone instantly punches him in the face.
Part Three: Taken aback, Aaron isn't sure that what they're doing is right. Despite Leanne's entreaties, Nick refuses to go to the police. Nick orders Sam to hand over his walkie talkie telling him he’s to have no further contact with Hope. Summer tells Aaron that she wants to share the responsibility of helping his dad. At his party, Griff offers to give Max a book about conspiracy theories. He also introduces him to Reece's daughter, Lauren. As Griff watches on from across the room, Max is taken with the girl. Adam threatens the Gazette editor with legal action if they publish any more excerpts but there's little they can do about the book. As Tyrone returns, he warns them they must keep their heads. Sean tells Glenda why he wanted to see Laurence's phone. Leanne calls at No.9 and tears a strip off Tyrone for punching Nick. Fiz turns on Tyrone and points out that his irrational behaviour has cost Hope her one friendship. On edge about Summer, Billy sets out to find how she is. Summer begs an unhappy Aaron to speak with Mike and Esther and see for himself how much good they're doing.
Part Four: Ed rails at Tracy and Daniel for making his life hell with their scaffolding and portaloo. Lauren recommends Griff's book to Max and offers to show him a DVD which is along the same lines. Aaron is somewhat withdrawn as he and Summer meet an excited Mike and Esther. A concerned Billy sees them all chatting. Tracy can't get a definite timing out of Arnie. A reluctant Laurence meets Sean and tells him that the woman was Lyndsey, the only woman he ever loved or slept with, and she died eight years ago. He leaves, unable to deal with Sean's insecurities. David is astonished to see Max engrossed in his book. Summer assures Aaron that they're doing a good thing, but she doesn't want to tell Billy yet. Tyrone tells Fiz he will not apologise to Nick. Billy tells Summer he saw he with the Hargraves and she lies that they were being supportive over the abortion. She's awash with guilt as he praises her for handling a difficult situation so well.
