Plot[]
Part One: Zeedan sets out to distribute the last of the flyers for the Speed Daal reopening. Dee-Dee agrees to help with Stu’s case, pointing out gaps in the police inquiry and suggesting they speak to Bridget and go over her mum’s statement. Jenny tries yoga to get out of her anger about Leo. Daisy reports that he hasn't responded to messages she's left with him. Stephen again looks over the scene of Leo's death and spots his phone on the ground. He pockets it. Dee-Dee questions Stu who insists that no one knew of his affair with Charlie Walter. Dee-Dee reveals the girl had another "on-off" boyfriend and a father who once did time for GBH, neither of whom was interviewed. Alya agrees to speak to Bridget about the night of Charlie’s murder. Bernie sees how tense Dev is and offers to take him for a brew. James refuses Ed's offer of a job at the builder's yard. Ronnie tells him there's a vacancy at the bistro. Dev tells a sympathetic Bernie he feels guilty for not being a better dad. Alya visits the nail bar where Bridget works. She pleads with her for help to clear her dad's name but Bridget, after hesitating, threatens her with the police.
Part Two: James decides to go for the bistro job. Stu is angry that Alya visited Bridget, admitting that he's on edge as the re-opening is going badly for Yasmeen. Dee-Dee comes up with Gordon Lennox's address and that he was supposedly retired early due to an inappropriate affair. Daisy tells Glenda that as Jenny isn't going to Canada, there is no job for her but an embarrassed Jenny offers her occasional shifts. Stu is impatient with the speed of their progress. With Aadi due to be discharged, Asha searches for Dev. Chesney tells her that he might still be at No.5. Teddy calls in the Rovers and is surprised to see Jenny behind the bar. She explains how Leo left without her. Unable to contact his son, Teddy asserts she’s only herself to blame. Chesney and Asha are horrified when Dev and Bernie come down from her bedroom. As the Alahan's leave, Dev leaves his underpants behind. James admits to Debbie that he has no interest in bar work and is just trying to appease his family. Debbie’s unimpressed. Alya finds press coverage of Lennox's old police partner, Eddie Griffith. Stu turns up at Lennox's house and bangs on the front door.
Part Three: Margaret Lennox answers and says her husband died last year. Leaving, Stu hears his voice calling from the back garden and goes round there, introducing himself as Lennox's worst nightmare. Jenny gives Stephen a drink as a peace offering, saying he's not blaming him for what happened. Daisy rings Leo again and Stephen hurries out as the one in his pocket lights up. Dev and Asha collect a depressed Aadi. Asha is still angry with her father. Lily tells James that she made it onto the football team and it’s all down to him, giving James food for thought. He takes her for another training session. Margaret threatens Stu with the police, saying her vacant husband has dementia. Dee-Dee and Alya, realising that the note with the address is missing, turn up and try to talk Margaret out of calling the police. Stu is demoralised that another chance has gone.
Part Four: Back at No.7, Dev fusses over Aadi. Bernie calls, supposedly on a pretext to see Aadi but, thinking she's brought him a present, he snatches her carrier bag and finds his father's underpants in it. Stu needs time alone. Aadi again thinks his father doesn't give a damn about him, but Bernie speaks up and tells him what a mess Dev's been in since the shooting. Her words get through to the twins. Alya finds Stu in Victoria Gardens. He breaks down, saying how much he misses his daughter. Emerging from the tram station, Bridget sees her father in tears. James announces he's decided to take up coaching. Aggie sees Stephen in the ginnel, trying to guess the passcode on Leo's phone. Jenny decides to take a back seat for a couple of nights and Glenda offers to run a forthcoming quiz night for her before she can say anything. Stu decides to give up the case but Yasmeen won't hear of it. He is thoroughly uplifted when Bridget arrives, wanting to talk to him. Dev proposes a fresh start with his children, based on honesty. Stu is delighted when Bridget offers to let him meet Eliza tomorrow.
