Plot[]
Part One: Kelly makes up with Maria and re-invites her to the party. Sharon Geary arrives to celebrate Kelly's engagement. Gary asks her not to rock the boat. Sharon sees that Kelly's in a good place and decides not to interfere but it's clear she finds the whole arrangement distasteful. Speed Daal continues to bleed money as the restaurant is closed for fumigation. Daisy angles for a promotion to Rovers manager when Jenny moves to Canada. Alya and Zeedan meet with Lorraine Hogarth, a solicitor specialising in miscarriages of justice. They're floored when she reveals that her fee is £15,000. Kelly introduces Sharon to Aadi. Gary is forced to tell Sharon about Kelly's kidnap ordeal when Aadi lets it slip. Her disgust intensifies when Gary agrees to give Kelly away on her wedding day. Toyah returns to court for the verdict.
Part Two: The jury find Toyah not guilty of murder. Jay, an old friend of Laura's, gives Kelly a holdall of her mum's things. Kelly tells him to burn it but Maria takes it for safekeeping. Toyah feels she got away with it and lets Saira abuse her outside court. Glenda gets off to a bad start on her first shift at the Rovers when she's reprimanded for giving Stephen the wrong change. Jenny tells Daisy she'd rather get somebody new in to run the pub. Leanne tries to make Toyah see that she isn't a murderer. Toyah insists that she is, and that Saira and Spider can see it even if she can't. Glenda maintains that Stephen short-changed her. Aadi persuades Kelly to open the bag, telling her that he treasures everything he has left of Sunita. Leo books his and Jenny's plane tickets for the 28th. Going through Laura's things, Kelly scrolls through the pictures on a digital camera. She suddenly notices something shocking and rushes off. Toyah's delighted when Spider returns. Kelly gets Gary to confirm that Laura said she killed Rick on 17th June 2019 before revealing that, according to her holiday snaps, she was in Spain that day.
Part Three: Kelly decides to hand the camera over to the police in an attempt to clear her mum's name. Gary assures her that Laura did kill Rick and suggests she got the dates mixed up. Spider apologises to Toyah for deserting her in her moment of need and tells her the jury's verdict is good enough for him. He announces he's sticking around. Jenny winds Daisy up by presenting Gemma as the Rovers' new manager before telling her the job's hers if she wants it. Alya considers taking out a loan to pay Lorraine's fees but Stu refuses to let her. Kelly realises she's clutching at straws and decides to let sleeping dogs lie. DS Swain agrees not to tell Toyah that Spider's a detective. Gary tells Sharon about the photo and asks her to back him up if Kelly asks her about it. Clocking her unease, he says that if she isn't prepared to lie, then she's to stay away.
Part Four: Toyah's keen to throw herself into activism now that the court case isn't hanging over her. Glenda's bad shift continues when she spills a drink over Daisy, but the latter is impressed when Glenda manhandles a drunken punter out of the pub. Sharon tells Kelly she can't make the party anymore. Pushed for an explanation, she warns the girl not to believe everything Gary tells her. Kelly asks her what she knows and Sharon admits that Gary killed Rick, not Laura. Alya and Zeedan go through Stu's case files again. Kelly makes Sharon go through everything Gary told her about Rick's death. Sharon suggests that Gary was involved in a turf war with Rick and coerced Laura into confessing. Kelly accepts Gary's guilt unquestioningly and is sickened as she thinks back to Rick's funeral and how supportive he was. Daisy's won over by Glenda and asks her to stay on. Jenny grows nostalgic as her departure from the street nears. Spider fishes for an invite into Griff's inner circle but Griff warns him to back off. Kelly forces herself to pretend everything is normal around Gary as she decides on her next move.
