Plot[]
Part One: It's Toyah's day in court. Kelly's grateful when Gary offers to chip in for her wedding. Leanne convinces Toyah not to testify, worried that her sister will incriminate herself in the witness box. Sean receives a kimono and tickets to Moulin Rouge as birthday presents from Laurence but is upset when his boyfriend says he can't make lunch because of work. James is discharged from hospital. Matt Bannerman takes Alya out for lunch at the bistro. Ryan's gutted as he watches them enjoying themselves. Ronnie encourages him to tell Alya that he still has feelings for her. The prosecution and defence lay out their cases as the trial begins. Toyah is alleged to have been blinded by rage when Imran confessed to lying about Abi's drug-using and driven into the wall deliberately. Adam is the first witness.
Part Two: Adam testifies that he heard Toyah intimate that she'd kill Imran if he lied to her. The defence barrister, Paige Moffett, makes him admit that he's said the same thing about people in the past and not meant it. Stu's chuffed when a customer at Speed Daal compliments his cooking. Kelly takes the witness box and recounts her last conversation with Imran, when he told her that he planned to confess his lies to Toyah. Dylan, Glenda, Eileen and George join Sean at Speed Daal for his birthday lunch. Stu is stunned when the customer returns and reveals that he was a friend of Charlie Walter. Accusing Zeedan of employing vermin, he empties a box of cockroaches on the floor. Kelly feels terrible knowing that her testimony will be used to show that Toyah had a reason to want Imran dead. Ryan is about to tell Alya how he feels about her when Glenda flies past them, fleeing the cockroaches. Alya returns to find the restaurant in disarray with customers leaving in droves, including Sean's party. Anticipating what Saira will say in the witness box, Toyah admits to Paige that she's reconciled with her ex since Imran died. Spider tells DS Swain that he and Toyah are no longer together but it's for personal reasons. Swain thinks he's found out something and demands he tell her what it is.
Part Three: Saira tells the court that Toyah was cold and manipulative towards Imran. She recounts catching Toyah kissing Spider. The defence takes over and she's forced to admit that she was estranged from Imran and barely knows Toyah. She stands by her testimony, saying she knows Toyah's type. Paige contradicts her assertion that Imran was afraid for his life, pointing out that he pulled his wife to safety. County's manager Robert Dover calls at No.3 to discuss James's future with the club. James is gutted when he says his contract is moot and they'll re-offer it when he's fit and healthy. Leanne is called as a defence witness and does her best to defend her sister, emphasising her forgiving nature. She's able to tell the truth without committing perjury. Ryan tells Alya how much he wishes they could get back together. She tells him he lost that chance when he got with Daisy. Awash with guilt, Toyah decides to take the witness box and make a full confession. Maria thinks Kelly will get bored and ditch Aadi once the party is out of the way. Kelly overhears her and tells her she's not invited. Alya and Zeedan arrive in court as Toyah takes the stand. Replaying the sequence of events, she freezes when she's asked if she found out about Imran's lies before or after the crash.
Part Four: Toyah says she found out afterwards and confesses to deleting the voicemail from Imran. She insists that the crash was an accident. The prosecution asks her how she can be so certain when she claims to have lost her memory of the crash. She says she can't remember what they talked about but knows she didn't kill Imran. Aggie and Michael are relieved that James can focus on his health but he feels he's lost the only thing he loved doing. Laurence calls at No.11 after work and promises to make up for his absence earlier to Sean. The prosecution and defence sum up their cases. Kelly is sad that she doesn't have many guests of her own to invite to the party and considers giving Sharon Geary a call. Back home, Toyah tells Leanne she's lost whatever the verdict, as she has to live with her guilt.

Notes[]
- This episode was produced with the intention of it being transmitted on Wednesday 14th September, but the postponement of Episode 10739/40 on Friday 9th September following the death of Queen Elizabeth II resulted in Coronation Street running an episode behind during the following week. An hour-long slot was added at 9.00pm on Thursday 15th September to enable the programme to catch up. Coronation Street would fall behind again on Friday 16th September due to extended news coverage and an episode of Emmerdale, which had been similarly displaced.
