Plot[]
Part One: Toyah heads out to see Griff, much to Leanne's displeasure. Dr Handley gives the good news to James that his cardiac arrest has caused no lasting damage but he has a genetic condition called cardiomyopathy and he will be fitted with an ICD to prevent further occurrences. Sam is due to attend Jalena's birthday party and admits to Hope that he hasn't seen her since the end of the summer holiday. Wondering what to wear to the party, he looks at Liam's cooler clothing. In Speed Daal, Zeedan surveys the empty bookings diary, worrying that Stu’s reputation is ruining the business. Despite assuring Stu that everything is fine, the chef heads out. Three lads recognise him on Victoria Street. Leanne rages at Spider for letting her sister down and pushing her towards Griff. Aadi and Kelly check out Gretna Green. Gary breaks the news to her that Rick's house has been sold and that Jake is moving into the flat. Kelly insists that Aadi isn't moving out to create room. The lads harass Stu, branding him a murderer. Nina rushes to his rescue, filming them and threatening them with the police. Peter offers Toyah his support with a hug, just as Saira Habeeb rolls up in her 4x4 to see Alfie and misconstrues what she sees.
Part Two: Saira accuses Toyah of murdering Imran so that she could be with her new boyfriend. Toyah assures her that’s not true but Griff steps in as Saira refuses to let it go. He sends her away with a flea in her ear. James panics as his operation nears and needs his family's reassurance. Toyah is off with Spider when he finds her being consoled in the cafe by Griff and Peter. With Liam and Jake fighting over the Xbox, Kelly suggests they watch videos on her laptop instead. But when they see that she’s been researching Gretna Green, she quickly changes the subject. Griff suggests they teach Saira a lesson by letting the tyres down on her gas-guzzling car. Spider warns Toyah that with her trial looming, she’d best not get involved but she refuses to listen to him. In a bid to impress, Sam turns up at Jalena’s party sporting a football top and trainers. She's not impressed. Griff shows Spider a petrol canister and suggests they torch Saira’s car instead. James is wheeled away. Spider begs Toyah to cut ties with Griff, revealing he’s in love with her and his marriage is over.
Part Three: Spider tells Toyah about his marriage to Layla, how they saw the negative side of protesting and couldn't settle down to a normal marriage. He assures Toyah he loves her more than he ever did Layla. Having taken Stu back to No.6, Nina fusses over him. She assures him that she believes in his innocence. Spider tells Toyah that she's a better person than the sort who would attack Saira. Getting a promise from him that his marriage is truly over, she kisses him. Jake innocently tells Gary and Maria that Kelly is going to Gretna Green. Aggie hides a text from Tim asking after James. Dr Handley tells them that the operation has been successful. Nick wonders why Sam has given up chess for football. Maria’s adamant they need to put a stop to Kelly’s crazy plan, but Gary warns her that if they try to stop her marrying Aadi, they could end up driving her away for good. As Toyah and Spider kiss on the flat's balcony, agreeing to keep their relationship under wraps until after the trial, a furious Saira stares up at them.
Part Four: James is determined to return to football, but Aggie thinks he ought to be considering retirement. Toyah tells a puzzled Griff she's dropping out of action against Saira. The lady herself calls at the police station and tells DS Swain that she's seen Toyah with another man and it's a possible motive for killing her son. When she names Spider, it's obvious that Swain knows of him. Gary and Maria confront Kelly and Aadi, but they are caught off guard when they are told they approve so long as they are honest with each other should one of them realise they've made a mistake. Gary advises him to tell Dev and Aadi decides to move back in with him until the wedding. Jalena tells Sam she was going to suggest they meet up for a game of chess, but not now that his interests have changed. Aggie tells Ed she's not going to let James make a decision that might kill him. Sam posts another letter - it's to Harvey Gaskell in Highfield Prison. Toyah tells Leanne she's steering clear of Griff but trusts Spider. Swain meets Spider, or Detective Constable Nugent as he is now. She tells him she's investigating his girlfriend and he, as an undercover cop, is breaking the rules by being with her. She threatens him with ending his career unless he helps her nail Toyah.
