Plot[]
Part One: Alya tells Yasmeen that she and Zeedan are going to be spending the day looking over Stu's case files with Adam. She gives them a look of utter disdain. Ed and Paul arrive at No.1 to start work on the roof. Steve explains to the annoyed men that Arnie has promised to do the job after all. The Underworld machinists wonder if they will be getting overtime as the new supply of silk is late for the Cartwright's order. Carla becomes frustrated as she struggles to secure the fabric. Summer returns to work. Alya and Zeedan look over two boxes of Stu's cases files in the solicitor's office. A cheerful Kelly helps Aadi revise for his driving theory test. Ed and Paul are amused as Steve leaves numerous messages for Arnie, wondering where he’s got to. Peter points out to Carla that she may have to obtain her stock from Stephen after all as her other options have run out. Zeedan and Alya come across piles of interview tapes in the boxes.
Part Two: Carla swallows her pride and asks Stephen to supply her fabric. Zeedan and Alya listen to Stu's matter-of-fact confession with no sign of coercion. Adam points out that tape labels show that he was questioned for over ten hours which is against the rules, and there’s a tape missing. John the scaffolder turns up, explaining to Steve that he’s come to take the scaffolding down as the hire period has expired. He demands another £500 cash to leave it up. Kelly is disinterested when Zeedan and Alya tell her what they've found out so far about Stu. Stephen tells Sarah that she’s clearly the business brains of the factory and she should think about buying Carla out of her share. Yasmeen tells her grandchildren to leave when they bring the tapes to the restaurant but they insist she should listen to them. Ellie from the Gazette calls at the bistro with some leaflets promoting a "Win a Dream Wedding" competition with a month in Mexico as the prize, and Kelly makes out that she and Aadi are planning a wedding. Alya begs Yasmeen to accompany her on a trip to visit Stu in Highfield Prison.
Part Three: Alya goes alone to the prison. She explains to Stu that the missing tape is the period just before the confession. They are surprised when Yasmeen suddenly turns up. Stephen sources the material for delivery that day. Ellie tells Kelly and Aadi that they'll be filmed taking part in a couples' quiz and then be subjected to a reader's quiz. With Alya gone, Stu tells Yasmeen how he saw Charlie Walter leave the restaurant after work and the next day her body was found. As they had just had sex, his DNA was over her body, but he couldn't prove their affair. She doesn't believe him and promises him she won't turn her back on him if he admits to being the murderer. Summer attends her appointment with the diabetic nurse who suggests that a flash monitor might be helpful. Aaron agrees but she refuses. Stu refuses to admit to something he didn't do and begs her to speak to Norman Hepworth, his old solicitor. Gemma and Leo tell Peter about a charity football match that Jenny is organising between the Rovers and The Flying Horse. Tracy is on the warpath, wanting to find Steve for an explanation as to why £500 is missing from their account. Zeedan traces Norman and Alya suggests they call him as a last chance.
Part Four: Kelly assures Aadi that they won’t actually get married, they’ll just enjoy the holiday. Scared of Tracy, Steve has to ask Ed and Paul for help with the roof again, but they can't do anything quickly. Norman visits No.6, confirming that Stu was coerced into making a confession and he was too young, inexperienced and overworked to counter Gordon Lennox's crooked prosecution. He has no doubt of Stu's innocence. Aaron stands by while Summer lies to Billy that she doesn't quality for a flash monitor. With her out of the room, Aaron suggests to Billy that Summer's appointment was rushed, and he might get a better result about the monitor if he calls the clinic. Sarah tells a calculating Stephen about her plans to revitalise Underworld. Zeedan finds out from Craig that Stu is being released tomorrow. Alya puts pressure on Yasmeen to allow him to move back in as it’s clear he’s innocent and has nowhere to go.
