Plot[]

Part One: With the refuse strike over, the council plans to clear the backlog by destroying a load of recyclable material. Maria is scathing but doesn't have time to organise a response so Toyah offers to stage a protest. Mimi arrives at a spotless No.9 and meets Evelyn for the first time. Toyah uses her contacts from her protesting days to get the word out. Maria becomes concerned that having someone up for murder fighting her cause isn't a good look and asks Leanne to dissuade her sister. Peter can't forgive Simon for blowing his chance to nail Thorne. Toyah plans to block the recycling lorry. As she busies herself with preprations, Alya accuses her of being over Imran already. Evelyn doesn't like Mimi, especially when Coco eats Cerberus's dinner. She's horrified when Fiz invites her to stay at No.9 as she can't find a hotel that allows dogs. Leanne tries to give Toyah advice but Toyah tells her that if she doesn't trust her she can get lost.

Part Two: Leanne realises that Toyah needs the distraction from everything else going on and agrees to join the protest. Liam's Star Trek-themed birthday party gets underway at the bistro. Maria hires Starfleet uniforms for the family - Captain Picard (Liam), Captain Kirk (Maria), Mr. Spock (Kelly), Scotty (Gary), and Dr. McCoy (Jake). Summer and Aaron plan their holiday in Barcelona. Summer is more interested in sight-seeing than sunbathing as she doesn't want to wear a bikini. Peter chooses a shift at Street Cars over a dinner date with Carla after she lectures him about being bitter. Maria stops Gary from posting a family selfie online out of fear of another backlash. The protesters stop the council bin wagon in Victoria Street. Peter is surprised when his fare from the police station turns out to be Nicky Wheatley. Toyah makes a speech against waste incineration. Annoyed when some of the protesters move on, she jumps into the cab. Mimi arrives at No.9 with her bags. Fiz hears a scream from the living room and finds Mimi on the floor. The pensioner claims that Cerberus pushed her over. Asha knocks the lorry driver's phone out of his hand to stop him from calling the police. A man picks his way through the protest group and clambers into the cab. Toyah is stunned to recognise him as her ex Spider Nugent.

Part Three: Toyah realises she'll go to jail if she's arrested. Following Spider's lead, she backs down but promises further action if the council fails to respond. Evelyn thinks there's nothing wrong with Mimi and she's just looking for sympathy. Nicky tells Peter that a man recognised her as a former sex worker and became abusive when she rejected him. He's sympathetic when she complains that the police picked on her even though the man was the aggressor. Toyah and Spider catch up at Victoria Gardens. Spider explains that he heard about the protest from his activist friends and came to help. She's pleased that he hasn't changed. Aaron reveals to Summer that they've been upgraded by the hotel with a free water sports session. She's uneasy about having to wear a skin-tight wetsuit but eventually agrees. Peter tells Nicky about his battle with Thorne. They bond over their shared contempt for authority trampling over the little man. She's grateful when he gives her a lift free of charge. Toyah tells Spider about everything she's been through.

Part Four: Tyrone takes Mimi to A&E so that Fiz can attend a wedding meeting at the bistro. Spider tells Toyah that he's living in London and was on his way up to meet some local activists when he got the call. She offers to put him up in her spare room while he's in Weatherfield. He agrees. Peter tells Daniel that Nicky's having a bad time. Daniel says he can't get involved because of Daisy. Maria worries that she's let the abusers win by letting herself be bullied off social media. Kelly assumes that Toyah and Spider are back together and accuses Toyah of betraying Imran's memory. Mimi has a sprained hip but no broken bones. Summer runs her hands down her body and, hating her shape, pours her insulin down the sink. Toyah tells Spider that he's the only person in her corner. Spider calls someone and tells them that the plan's still on.
