Plot[]
Part One: A terrified Maria reports the threats against her to the police. Toyah refuses to hide away and goes back to work in order to repay Leanne. Peter awaits the GMC's verdict on Thorne but without the recording, he's pessimistic. Carla advises him to concentrate on his health and not settling scores. Fiz gets worked up ahead of a pre-wedding visit from Mimi. Her patience is tried when Hope says she doesn't want to be a bridesmaid anymore. Maria is disheartened to find that she's despised on the Weatherfield Community Chat forum. Gary urges her to cancel a press conference about her recycling initiative but she's adamant it'll go ahead.
Part Two: The GMC drops the investigation against Thorne due to a lack of evidence. Peter is angry that's got away with a reprimand on his record and insists on being left alone to process the news. George overhears Frank threatening someone over the phone, apparently proving that he's still a nasty piece of work. Reporting what he heard to Sean, he tells him what Frank put him through at school. Sarah feels Toyah isn't in the right headspace to work after she snaps at a customer on the phone. Also, Jo Lafoe makes it clear to Sarah that she's surprised to a murder suspect in the workplace. Sean is moved by George's story and finishes with Frank. Peter is amazed at Thorne's nerve when the doctor joins him at the Rovers. Fiz's veil is snagged on a hairclip. Hope enjoys the drama as Fiz struggles to keep on top of everything. Thorne orders Peter not to undo all his skilled work by wasting his life. Peter feels patronised. At the press conference, Maria can barely say two words without Jimmy Dixon heckling her. As PC Heywood ushers him away, Gary accuses the binman of being RedPilled100 and pins him against a wall. Maria is mortified as the press catch every moment of the altercation.
Part Three: Gary is led from the room by PC Heywood. Maria faces a barrage of difficult questions from the journalists and abandons the press conference. Toyah is annoyed when Sarah tells her she can't work at the factory with a murder charge hanging over her. Riled up by Thorne, Peter follows the doctor out to his car and begins kicking the vehicle. He proceeds to smash the wing mirror with a golf club from the boot. Gary is released without charge. Maria decides that being on the council isn't worth all the strife it's putting their family through. Frank accuses George of putting Sean off him. George admits that he did and tells him what he overheard. He's taken aback when Frank explains that he was helping an actor friend prepare for an audition. Beth wishes that she and Kirk would marry again legally as she mends Fiz's veil. Fiz is horrified when Phill walks in as she's trying it on. Peter smashes Thorne's car window with the club.
Part Four: As Peter grabs hold of Thorne, Adam arrives and pulls the pair apart. He stops Thorne from calling the police by offering to cover any damages his uncle caused. Sally is stunned to hear from Kelly that Maria is withdrawing from politics. George admits to Sean that he got the wrong end of the stick. Sally relates her own experiences of being a woman in the public eye to Maria and implores her not to be beaten in her quest to make a difference. Fiz discovers that Hope told Phill about the veil being snagged. Maria decides to remain a councillor, but to keep away from social media in future. Carla despairs as Peter refuses to let the Thorne issue go. Sean apologises to Frank for taking George at his word and persuades him to take him back. They agree not to let George's persecution complex destroy them. Maria can't resist checking the forum and sees another wave of nasty comments.
