Plot[]
Part One: David cancels a meeting with Max's head of year to report Blake and Chris at his son's request, agreeing not to stoke the fire. Maria thinks she's become a laughing stock but Gary assures her that most people are behind her. Peter senses victory when Tricia Womack agrees to speak out regarding Thorne's behaviour towards his staff. Carla doesn't think it's enough to nail him and warns Peter that if Thorne gets away with it, he'll have turned down a life-changing sum for nothing. David and Maria open the barbers despite Audrey's sacking spree. A stressed Maria erupts at Max when he uses a line from the viral video. She's embarrassed to find he hasn't watched it and it's a coincidence. Todd and George hatch a plan to set Frank off and make him show his true colours in front of Sean. The neighbours blame Maria for their bins not being emptied. Maria gets a call from Liam's teacher saying he's attacked another boy.
Part Two: Gary and Ed empty the neighbours' bins at the tip to take the heat off Maria. Stephen apologises to Gail for blaming her for Audrey's accident and offers to broker peace between mother and daughter. Todd spills ice tea over Frank in the cafe. Frank momentarily loses it but regains his composure quick enough that Sean doesn't think anything of it. Peter explains to Simon that he has a moral duty to stop Thorne but Simon would rather he took the money. Thorne watches the pair from his car. Liam tells Maria that the boy deserved it as he had a video of her on his phone. Maria assumes it's the video from earlier but as he describes it she realises it's not the same one. Peter starts to wonder if he should accept the bribe. Tricia is annoyed when he expresses reservations over her evidence and tells him he's as bad as Thorne for letting himself be bought. Tim encourages Ronnie not to see so much of Ed. He's forced to explain himself when Ed joins them. Stephen threatens to return to Milan unless Audrey makes up with Gail. Maria views the other viral video of her and is horrified to find it's a pornographic film with her head deepfaked onto another woman's body.
Part Three: Tim tells Ed and Ronnie that Aggie would appreciate being taken out more. He denies discussing the subject with Aggie, saying he's just in tune with women. Ed suggests he concentrate on his own relationship. Audrey thaws towards Gail but insists on not being treated like one of her children. Thorne looks for Peter at the cafe and tells Simon that his dad has five minutes to show up or the deal's off. Simon is pleased when the doctor reports that Peter has agreed to hand over the Dictaphone in exchange for the £100k and scrambles to get hold of his dad in time. Maria is shaken by how convincing the deepfake video is. Unable to bear people thinking it's real, she decides to make a public statement. Simon can't find Peter so makes the exchange with Thorne himself. He hands over the Dictaphone after Thorne shows him the completed bank transaction on his phone.
Part Four: Maria streams a video message for her troll, RedPilled100, saying she'll never let cowards like him win. Stephen thanks Elaine for helping save Audrey's life and is interested to hear that she and Brian aren't together. An angry Aggie confronts Tim over his clumsy intervention before admitting that it worked and Ed is taking her out to the bistro later. Stephen reveals to Audrey and Gail that he's decided to stay on a while. Maria braves the comments section of her video and finds it's full of people slagging her off. Peter returns home and is dumbstruck to learn that Simon gave the dictaphone to Thorne. He tells him he's been conned as he never struck a deal with Thorne and the £100k hasn't gone into his account. Eileen hears Todd and George discussing their next move and orders them to leave Frank alone; whatever he did at school, he's clearly matured. Maria discovers that RedPilled100 has made a death threat against her.

Notes[]
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew. Exceptions were occasionally made for instances in which characters were required to be in close contact. These were made in accordance with the rules by employing measures such as more frequent testing and cast members bubbling up together prior to recording. The system of a one-metre rule was dropped at the start of May 2022, during which time this episode was the final one within the block already being recorded and it therefore contained a mixture of scenes with and without social distancing. The first episode without any social distancing was Episode 10677/8 (29th June 2022), though still with testing for any significant physical contact.
- The scene of Peter Barlow meeting Tricia Womack in 10675 was recorded at the rear of the Underworld building.
- TV Times synopsis: Maria rages at Max in the barbers as she continues to worry about the video, while coming under fire from her neighbours over their unemptied bins; and Carla warns Peter to think carefully about rejecting the life-changing sum of money.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast: 4,962,000 viewers (4th place).
