Plot[]
Part One: It's the day of Imran's funeral and Toyah is on edge as she gets ready. Cathy is annoyed that Brian's not taking any notice of her lack of eagerness to move to Cornwall. Summer insists to Billy that she will not join him in meeting Mrs Crawshaw as she's no longer interested in going to university. Audrey has her cataract operation today, eager to move out of No.8 and return home. Alya tells Peter that she's convinced that Toyah knows more about the accident than she's letting on. He defends his ex, just as he gets a phone call to attend the police station. Phill breaks the news to Fiz that the whole house needs rewiring as it’s a death trap. Tyrone suggests that she and the girls move into No.9 while the work is carried out, while he stays in the salon flat. Phill reckons it’s for the best. Asha and Amy tear a strip off Summer for her treatment of Aadi. Aaron assures Summer that he's there for her as a friend. Peter insists to DS Swain that Adam's allegation has no foundation in truth. She starts to ask questions about Susie Price.
Part Two: The mourners gather at the crematorium. Saira refuses to sit with Toyah. Peter is reluctantly forced to admit to Swain how Toyah, in her desperation to be a mother, deceived him over Jacqui Ainsworth’s failed surrogacy and Eva's baby. Toyah breaks down as she makes an emotional speech about Imran at the service, saying how she wishes he had survived the car crash and not her. Swain insinuates that Toyah wants a baby at any cost and would go to desperate lengths. Saira refuses to go back to the bistro for Imran's wake, blaming Toyah for her son's death. Let go by the police, Peter arrives at the crematorium. He lambasts Adam for getting him involved and warns Toyah that the police are investigating her. Gail looks at all the empty wine bottles in the recycling bin and confides in Shona that she worried that Audrey is drinking too much. Billy asks Paul and Todd to speak to Summer about her changed ambitions. Cathy is taken aback when Brian proposes to her, but he ruins the moment when he tells her of the financial advantages in being married. Upset, she excuses herself from the Kabin. At the wake, Leanne starts to get snappy with Adam and Alya’s insinuations about Toyah. Peter warns her that the police are investigating her sister. Toyah goes to see Swain, saying there are things they need to talk about.
Part Three: Swain is puzzled to see Toyah as she knows it’s the day of her husband’s funeral. Cathy drowns her sorrows in the Rovers, telling Jenny, Daisy and Evelyn that she's found recent letters between Brian and Julie Carp in which Julie wonders if the two of them would ever get back together. Mixologist Jim Fizz turns up at the Rovers to run the cocktail class. Summer refuses to change her mind when Todd and Paul try to get her to reconsider. Leanne finds it difficult to stay calm at the wake. Toyah insists to Swain that anything she said about killing Imran was just a figure of speech, but the officer insists that she is a woman who would go to extreme lengths if she couldn’t get what she wanted. Audrey returns from her successful surgery, insisting she now needs a strong drink. The ladies in the Rovers enjoy the cocktail class as Fiz joins them. Cathy ignores Brian's texts as she gets steadily drunk. Leanne loses her temper with Adam's comments about Toyah and slaps him across the face in front of the mourners.
Part Four: Spotting his chances, Jim sympathises with Cathy over Brian's treatment of her. Fiz thinks she's found the perfect dress for her wedding. Summer agrees to Aaron's suggestion that they get back together and go on holiday. Unable to convince Audrey to drink less, Gail decides to hide the wine bottles in her wardrobe. Toyah lies to Swain, saying that Imran never made any confession of wrong doing to her, but is told that they have retrieved his final phone message to her. Daisy thinks the cocktail class has failed as Jim drank more booze than they sold to the customers. Brian turns up at the pub to fetch Cathy who is drunkenly kissing Jim in the back yard. Evelyn intercepts him before he can stumble in on the couple. Billy returns from meeting Mrs Crawshaw with the news that Summer is disqualified from the exams and cannot re-sit that subject. He agrees that her holiday with Aaron is just what she needs. Evelyn remonstrates with a nearly comatose Cathy over her behaviour and advises her to challenge Brian over Julie's letters. Swain plays Imran's call back to Toyah, asking why she tried to delete it. She formally charges Toyah with Imran's murder.

Notes[]
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew. Exceptions were occasionally made for instances in which characters were required to be in close contact. These were made in accordance with the rules by employing measures such as more frequent testing and cast members bubbling up together prior to recording. The system of a one-metre rule was dropped at the start of May 2022, during which time this episode was within the block already being recorded and it therefore contained a mixture of scenes with and without social distancing. The first episode without any social distancing was Episode 10677/8 (29th June 2022), though still with testing for any significant physical contact.
- First appearance of Alex Warner since 23rd February 2022.
- An in-joke occurs in this episode when Jenny Connor introduces Jim Fizz to Evelyn Plummer as a mixologist and Evelyn remarks that he said he has an "ology". Beginning in December 1987, British Telecom ran a successful advertising campaign for several years in which Maureen Lipman played Beattie ("B..T.."), an old lady who constantly kept in touch with her family and friends on the telephone. In the most famous of these, she speaks with her grandson Anthony on the day that he receives his exam results, only to hear that he failed all of them except for pottery and sociology. Desperate to hear good news, she replies, "He gets an ology and he says he’s failed... you get an ology, you’re a scientist!" The word "ology" entered popular vernacular and in 1989 Maureen even published a book entitled You got an ology?
- Renny Krupinski was the fight arranger for the scene in 10664 where Leanne Battersby slaps Adam Barlow across the face.
- TV Times synopsis: Imran's funeral takes place and Toyah delivers a heartfelt eulogy, saying how she wishes he had survived the car crash instead of her; and as Asha and Amy tear a strip off Summer for her treatment of Aadi, Aaron assures her he is there for her as a friend.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast: 5,328,000 viewers (3rd place).
