Plot[]
Part One: Abi and Kevin are hauled in for questioning in separate cars. Toyah asks Leanne to fetch Alfie from the bistro as she knows he'll be taken away from her and wants to be with him for as long as possible. Nick breaks the news of Imran's death to a distraught Kelly. DC Wiley asks Kevin about the work he carried out on Toyah's car. The detective notes that he should have been able to fix the problem at the roadside but Kevin insists that he needed an OBD scanner from the garage. Kelly relays the sad news to everyone at the Rovers, including Alya and Yasmeen. Gary and Maria comfort her as she laments the loss of another parental figure. Kevin is asked what he did to the brakes. He says he never touched them. Abi denies that she planned to kidnap Alfie. Kevin struggles with Wiley's questions about why the car was in the garage for so long and why there was no bill for the labour. He lies that he delayed Toyah to give Abi more time with Alfie. His confidence wavers when Wiley says that the car is so badly damaged that they can't tell whether they were tampered with.
Part Two: Kelly visits Toyah in hospital and is shocked to hear that Abi is being questioned over an attempted kidnapping and sabotage. She says Abi wouldn't do that. Toyah and Leanne are surprised when Kelly mentions Imran's confession and his meeting with Elliot Newell. Kelly thinks Imran must have bottled it and is annoyed when Toyah and Leanne tell her to leave it. She goes straight to the police station and tells DS Swain everything Imran told her. An emotional Toyah holds Alfie and tells him about the life they would have had and promises that his dad will never be forgotten. An examination of the crashed car shows that the brakes were fine. Kevin and Abi are released as there's insufficient evidence that they planned to abduct Alfie. Swain questions Toyah about the lead-up to the accident. Toyah still can't remember. The detective suggests that if the car hit the scaffolding at full speed and the brakes were working, then Toyah must not have applied them.
