Plot[]
Part One: Tim and Sally are communicating better. Gail and Eileen place flowers by the memorial bench to pay their respects to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing, two days before its fifth anniversary. Sally covers when Debbie and Ronnie enquire about Tim being carted off from the hotel in an ambulance. Amy and Jacob are left without hot water when their boiler breaks down. Amy tells Daniel that she's buried the hatchet for the family's sake, not his. Michael apologises to Fiz for upsetting her. Amy picks up clean clothes from No.1 but is too proud to ask her parents to use their shower. Sally swears Gail to secrecy over Tim's impotence as she plans a racy surprise for her husband.
Part Two: Steve shows off his new camera doorbell app to Tim and Dev. Summer leaves the cafe in disgust when a contrite Max approaches her. Daniel feels he can't be a teacher as he's a bad role model for children. Mary realises she's left Tracy's order book at No.11. Jacob offers to pick it up for her. Mrs Crawshaw and two colleagues interview Daniel. He makes no effort to give good answers to the panel's questions. Tyrone spots Phill in Victoria Gardens handing a man a large envelope, when he's meant to be in Leeds. Tim looks at the feed from Steve's app and hears Ronnie assure Sally that her secret is safe with him. Eileen returns home to find Jacob wearing only a towel, having just had a shower. He's thrown out on his ear. Getting the wrong idea, Tim marches over to No.1 and, accusing Ronnie of putting the moves on Sally, punches him in the face.
Part Three: Sally explains that the "secret" was Ronnie had offered the Metcalfes VIP football match tickets which Sally was going to surprise Tim with. A disappointed Orla asks Daniel why he undersold himself. He explains that the last year has shown he's not cut out for teaching and announces his intention to leave Weatherfield High at the end of his training. Eileen attracts Tracy and Mary's attention as she sends Jacob packing. He explains that he needed a shower as he and Amy have no hot water or electricity in the flat. Tyrone tells Kirk that Phill lied about his whereabouts but is encouraged not to tell Fiz as there's probably an innocent explanation. David is delighted to hear that Daniel has quit teaching. Jacob tells Tracy that the council won't help him as the flat is in his sister's name and he'll be evicted if they find out she isn't living there anymore. Sally is incensed that Tim thought she could sell him out to a random neighbour. Gail overhears Steve and Ronnie talking about Tim's heart problems and wrongly assumes that they know about his impotence.
Part Four: Jacob and Tracy join forces to persuade Amy to move back into No.1. Tim makes up with Ronnie and is thrilled when he still gives him the football tickets. Tyrone gets Phill to double down on his Leeds lie but resists the temptation to call him out on it. Tim's taken aback when Gail congratulates him for having the strength to talk about his problem with his mates. He confirms that Sally told her all about it. Daniel has no regrets about the interview, feeling that he's being honest with himself. Nicky shocks him by suggesting that they could have a future together. He tells her he isn't looking for romance. Tim accuses Sally of hypocrisy for telling Gail when she was so indignant at the suggestion she'd blabbed to Ronnie. He says it's his problem, and his business.
