Plot[]
Part One: Kelly is saddened by her mum's death and the fact that she doesn't have many good memories of her to look back on. Daniel helps plan a school trip to Edinburgh in order to boost his chances of being kept on after his training. George tells Gary and Maria that Rick and Laura's bodies are being released from the coroner's office. He asks whether Kelly wants a joint funeral for her parents. Nick gets a text from Jalena's dad asking if Sam will play his daughter at chess again. Sam's keen. Kelly is out of her depth planning two funerals and doesn't know what her parents would have wanted. As Toyah prepares to say goodbye to Elsie, she turns down a request from Imran to be there to see her off. Rick's solicitor informs Kelly that she stands to inherit everything from her dad's estate, including the family home. She's stunned to learn that it comes to £380,000.
Part Two: Kelly doesn't want Rick's money as it came from other people's misery. She's told that she'll inherit the full amount once she turns eighteen. Nick leaves Roy in charge of Sam and Jalena at the cafe. Sam doesn't perform very well. Sarah tries to incentivise the factory's sales team by offering a bonus to whoever has the most orders by the end of the week. Gary checks out Rick's house for Kelly. He's rattled by the sight of a photo of a smiling Rick with his daughter. Jalena puts the chess game on hold to attend a dental checkup. Hope thinks Sam is playing badly because he fancies Jalena. Lou Breslin collects Elsie. Toyah holds back the tears until they've driven off. Daniel is embarrassed when Mrs Crawshaw breaks down in front of him and admits that her husband has left her. Gary packs up some things from Kelly's childhood to help her focus on the good times. Looking over them, she's overcome with emotion and hurries out. Alone at Victoria Gardens, she takes out her mum's bottle of morphine from her pocket and unscrews the top.
Part Three: A passing Abi sees what Kelly is about to do and tries to talk her out of it. Kelly thinks no one would miss her if she died. Daniel offers to plan the Edinburgh trip by himself when Mrs Crawshaw struggles to compose herself. She's grateful when he promises not to tell anyone what happened. Abi relates her own experiences of drugs, telling Kelly that it's not the answer and she'll have to learn to live with the pain. As Kelly lets go of the bottle, Abi takes it and puts it in her pocket. Leanne worries about Toyah as she drowns her sorrows at the bistro before leaving to tell Imran what she thinks of him. Michael and Faye work flat out to earn the sales bonus. Sarah has to order them to take a break. A tipsy Toyah rolls up at the solicitors office gunning for Imran but, finding only Adam there, she offloads on him. Sam admits that he likes Jalena and is worried that she'll think he's an idiot. Roy suggests he asks Nick for advice. Adam tells Toyah that Imran is a fool. She surprises him with a kiss just as Imran enters.
Part Four: Adam, Toyah and Imran accept that the kiss was just a drunken mistake. Toyah is bitter that Imran has turned her into a pathetic creature who throws herself at any man who is kind to her. Imran says he still loves her and asks for a chance to win her trust back. Nick tells Sam that Jalena must think he's cool to be playing with him. Abi brings Kelly home and tells Gary and Maria about the morphine. Sam beats Jalena and is thrilled when she asks for a rematch tomorrow. Faye and Michael miss a call from client Mr Geronimo while on their enforced break. Kirk becomes the front-runner to win the sales bonus when he takes the call and convinces Geronimo to come in and place an order. Daniel accepts help from Nicky to plan the school trip. Leanne has a go at Abi in the shop, saying that Alfie is better being adopted than having a useless junkie for a mother. Imran tells Toyah that he needs her in his life. Toyah refuses to play second fiddle to Abi. Upset over what Leanne said, Abi picks up the bottle of morphine.
