Plot[]
Part One: Craig is excited on his first day back with the police, but Emma's mood casts a cloud over the flat's atmosphere. Faye feels guilty. Kelly tries to put a nonchalant front but Maria has heard her crying in the night. Gary receives a call from the hospital saying Laura wants to see him. Faye has a dizzy spell in the street. Tim comes to her aid and finds out that she is pregnant. Lou Breslin calls to see Toyah. Tim is proud of the way that Faye is growing up. The chess tournament is moved to the bistro at Nick's invitation after its intended venue is cancelled. Roy persuades Sam to let Nick take him to the event instead of himself. When questioned by Beth, Fiz makes an uneasy claim that Tyrone is fine with her new living arrangements. A tearful Laura is noticeably weaker, upset that she couldn't think of anyone who would visit her aside from Gary. Faye pleads with Emma for their friendship not to be wrecked. Jon calls at the flat wanting to see Emma.
Part Two: Jon demands to know the truth, saying he doesn't believe the two girls didn't know that Craig was investigating his grandad's death. Cornered, Faye tells the truth that they were responsible. Kelly spurns Simon's sympathy and rudely claims that Laura means nothing to her. The girls give Jon the full details of the day they met Ted and why they hid their involvement from him. Emma insists she loves him but an upset Jon stalks out of the flat. Imran asks to speak to Toyah who is bitterly angry after being told that Elsie is being re-fostered with another family. She is amused that Imran has been reported to the Solicitor's Regulation Authority by social services for acting on Abi's behalf when having a vested interest. Kevin isn't pleased to receive Beth's undiplomatic sympathy about the breakdown of his marriage. He tells Fiz that Tyrone isn't as chilled about her moving away as he makes out. Sam makes it through to the semi-final against a lad called Oscar. Dr Chakrabarti informs Gary that Laura is declining rapidly and has only days to live. Faye has stomach pains and begs Emma to ring Craig when she starts to bleed.
Part Three: Craig returns, livid to learn that Jon has been told everything, but more concerned to get Faye to hospital. Gary gets some items together to decorate Laura's hospice room. Sam wins his game and has to face the arrogant Jalena in the final tomorrow. Nick is proud of his son. Awaiting treatment, Faye tells Craig that she told Jon the truth as she didn't want their baby to come into a life of lies. Toyah allows Imran to say goodbye to Elsie, but she rips into him for tearing apart the child's life again. Kelly returns from a shopping trip for a dress for the North West Regional Stylist Awards. Gary and Maria break the news of Laura's impending death but she refuses to listen to them. Jon returns to Emma after giving the matter some thought. He's happy that his grandad died after having had a pleasant morning with the girls. He asks Emma if she really does love him as he feels they're destined to spend their lives together. Fiz asks Tyrone to be honest about how he feels about them moving away and he admits that No.9 and his life both feel empty. Craig and Faye are perturbed when the sonographer suddenly says she needs a second opinion.
Part Four: Kelly refuses to discuss Laura with Gary, saying she's already dead to her. The scan shows Faye isn't pregnant and her test was a false positive. She's recommended for a test as she's stopped having her periods. Jon offers Emma a fresh new start in Australia. Fiz assures a happy Tyrone he can see the girls whenever he likes and suggests they organise set days for him to come round. Nick stresses that he's not being as good a dad to Sam as he could be. Imran assures Abi that despite all that's happened, he could never have walked away from his son and he's determined to help her fight for the child. Craig and Faye return to the news that Jon isn't making a police complaint and Emma is moving to Australia with him.
