Plot[]

Part One: Amy stays off school as she believes a classmate spiked her. Lou Breslin asks to see Toyah and Imran about Elsie's future. They assume she's being moved on. Daniel tells Max to expect a visit from the police to check the video footage of the dance. Bernie detains Linda at the cafe while Chesney and Gemma get hold of Izzy, asking her not to tell Linda that Joseph ran away. Steve admits to David that he doesn't know how to help Amy. David tells him he went through something similar a few years ago and offers to talk to her. Sally finds out from Gina's daughter Judy that her sister is struggling with her bipolar. Tim suggests she go visit Gina but Sally insists he needs her more. Sarah tells Adam about Lydia seeing a married man. He advises her to let Lydia get on with it and concentrate on their own lives. Leanne, Nick, Simon and Steve visit Oliver's grave on what would have been his fifth birthday. Max is checking his laptop when David leads the police into No.8 to inspect the dance footage.

Part Two: David checks the camera Max used at the dance only to find that the SD card has been corrupted. As the police leave, Max holds another memory card in his hand, having already downloaded the footage to his laptop and switched the cards. Toyah and Imran are stunned when Lou asks them how they'd feel about adopting Elsie. Adam tells Sarah he'd like to try again for a baby. She agrees. David and Max approach Amy at Victoria Gardens, where David tells Amy that he was once drugged with GHB and it nearly destroyed him. He advises her to focus on the fact that everything turned out okay but she's worried it'll happen again when her friends aren't around to protect her. Elaine encourages Sally to go to Gina's while she stays on and looks after Tim. Toyah considers whether her relationship with Imran is strong enough for them to adopt a child. She confesses to Abi that Imran cheated on her. Abi says it's obvious how much he loves her. Bernie makes digs at Dev when he tries to chat up Linda in the Rovers. When Dev makes a comment about Bernie taking other people's money, Linda presses him for details. Not knowing who she is, Dev tells her the whole story about Joseph going missing and Bernie scamming her way into pocketing half of the reward money. David returns home as Max is playing the footage back on his laptop. He's horrified when the video shows Max handling a bottle labelled GHB.

Part Three: Confirming that he spiked Amy's drink, Max guiltily explains to David that Daniel was his intended target. Linda questions Chesney and Gemma over Joseph's disappearance. They tell her he ran away as he was being picked on at school, saying nothing about their financial troubles. A sympathetic Linda tells them there was no need to hide it from her. Max explains to David that Daniel was making out he understood what David went through with Josh, so he drugged him to teach him a lesson. David is livid at his own misery being used to justify Max's crime. Shona arrives as David grabs Max's laptop and marches off to the police station to report his son. Sally arranges an online quiz with Gina but has to hold it at the factory instead of No.4 as Tim and Elaine have an afternoon playing board games planned. Linda offers Chesney financial help if he needs it. He is too proud to accept. Shona intercepts David at the station before he hands over the laptop.

Part Four: Shona begs David to let them punish Max as a family, telling him that if he goes to prison he'll end up like Clayton. David thinks he's already let Max get away with too much. Linda prepares to leave for Portugal, telling Bernie she'll be back if she finds out Joseph is unhappy. Bernie says she'll make sure the family are okay. David is swayed by Shona's words and doesn't report Max. Imran tells Toyah he wants to adopt Elsie. She lays down conditions for her acceptance, including that there are no more secrets between them and they get married. Imran excitedly agrees. The factory staff tell Sally she's being too tough on Elaine. Outside Redbank Apartments, Lydia sends another suggestive text from "Adam" to her own phone. Linda feels that she's needed in Weatherfield and decides to stay on longer. Oliver's family return from the cemetery with reports of Leanne kicking off at Amy for seeing Jacob. David destroys the SD card containing the dance footage and demands that Max's vendetta against Daniel ends now. As Max promises to change, David wonders if he's doing the right thing.
