Plot[]
Part One: DS Davenport interviews Daniel at the police station. Daniel says Max must have tripped on his bag at the top of the stairs. He lies that he threw Max out of the flat and then heard him fall from behind the door. Acting as his solicitor, Adam reminds the detective of Max's history of harassment towards Daniel and suggests he's lying again. Max is discharged from hospital. Audrey bitterly tells Shona that if she drinks it's because nobody trusts her with anything anymore. On her 35th birthday, Sarah's underwhelmed with Adam's gift of a smart cooker. Max tells David he trashed the flat to get back at Daniel for letting his secret slip out. He admits he stole Dev's key. David is disappointed in him but believes his allegation against Daniel. The police decide against prosecuting Daniel. DS Davenport questions Max about the burglary. Adam recalls Daniel pushing Ken down the stairs and tries to get his uncle to privately admit his guilt. Daniel maintains his innocence. Asha calls in at the cafe before catching her train to Glasgow. Nina pockets her phone to stop her from going, convinced that something bad is going to happen to her if she does.
Part Two: Max gets off with a caution. Kelly overhears Maria moaning to Gary that she has reached the end of her tether. She's devastated, thinking she's talking about her. David tells Daniel he knows he pushed Max down the stairs. Lydia sticks up for Daniel. Shona suggests Rita has a night out before urging her to ask Audrey to do her hair. Rita's dubious but agrees. Lydia finds someone who can fix Daniel's clay handprints. Daisy calls at the shop flat to check on Daniel. He gets defensive when she admits she thinks he's hiding something. Nina hands Asha her phone back when Asha says she'll go to Glasgow with or without it. Asha is alarmed when her girlfriend locks the cafe door to stop her from leaving. As Daniel and Daisy hurl insults at each other, Daisy admits she wants Daniel and they kiss. She instinctively slaps him before kissing him again. They leap apart as Lydia enters.
