Part One: Bernie gives Joseph the console game he wanted but reiterates that he mustn't tell anyone. Leo has invited Jenny to watch him play rugby, but her thoughts are occupied by Carla's allegation that she's moved on too quickly from Johnny and thinks she should end it with Leo. Craig is on his feet and sets off to pay Tyrone his £20 for the bet about the crutch. Evelyn takes the girls to school and Joseph joins them. He shows Hope his game but she spills the beans to Evelyn when they bicker over it. Evelyn doesn't believe his story that he's borrowed it from a friend and confiscates it. Daniel's taken aback when he finds out from Sarah how Daisy sang his praises to Lydia. Before Jenny can ring Leo, a friend of his calls to say he's been injured in the match and taken to hospital in an ambulance. Sally receives a call from Jim Stenton to say that they no longer want her endorsement because of the article in the Gazette. A panicking Jenny arrives at the hospital to hear that Leo is fine and just needs a couple of stitches. Also in the waiting area is Teddy, an old friend from her schooldays. She enjoys catching up with him. Evelyn hands Chesney the game, pointing out it's still packaged and therefore can't be borrowed. Bernie claims the boy found it, but Evelyn accuses her of being a liar.

Part Two: Bernie claims she bought the game as a treat and Chesney mentions the pay rise Dev gave her, making Evelyn jealous. Sally and Faye visit Tim. She tells him about Jim's call, and that the Gazette editor is no longer supporting her campaign. She's thinking of dropping out of the election. Faye thinks the photo is a dirty tactic by her opposition and Sally immediately thinks of Maria. Evelyn accuses Dev of giving Bernie a pay rise for sleeping with him. Emma sees that that it’s Ted’s funeral tomorrow in the paper. Faye reckons it's a good sign as the police must have released his body. Fiz challenges Hope as she's found crisp packets, cans and an empty plate in the loft. Dev warns Bernie to stay away from Evelyn. Paul knows his mother is giving Chesney and Gemma extra money and asks her where it's coming from. Sally accuses Maria of supplying the photo, but she vehemently denies it. Sally swears revenge. Bernie has confessed everything to Paul and makes him see how much his sister needs the £16,000. Teddy confesses that he fancied Jenny at school and asks her out for a drink. They are both struck dumb when Leo comes out of the treatment room and introduces them to each other, Teddy being his dad. Dev comes out of the corner shop as Fiz and Evelyn accost a returning Bernie in the street. Hope repeats the lie she's already told them: that it was Bernie's idea that Joseph hid in the loft, and she gave them money to keep quiet.
