Plot

Steve decides against telling Emma that Curtis is innocent as he's afraid that she'll take him back if she knows the truth. Max rages when he's told to use his school holidays to catch up on the work he missed during his suspension. Carla clocks Nina's anxiety when Asha isn't available to help her set up the Christmas market stall. Sarah realises that the families will need cajoling into doing the joint dinner. Kevin anticipates that Abi will want a quiet Christmas at No.13 but his wife surprises him and Jack by declaring that she wants to make it special. A photographer from the charity calls at No.1 to take pictures of Steve. Steve tries to get the pictures taken before Emma gets back. Sarah introduces Lydia to Daniel and the pair strike an immediate chord. Lydia's intrigued to learn that he's Adam's uncle. Emma returns to her flat to find that Curtis is still there. He refuses to leave until she's heard him out. Showing her a bank statement on his phone, Curtis attempts to prove that he didn't steal the £100k but Emma suggests that he used another account. She calls him insane and suggests that he deliberately bumped into Steve during the charity bike ride in the hopes of getting his hands on the money. He's sent packing and told never to contact her again. Daniel provides his laptop for the carol concert in Victoria Street. Still bearing a grudge against the teacher, Max tampers with the laptop while Daniel's back is turned. Nina struggles to cope with a gang of cheeky schoolchildren at the market but refuses help from Carla. Tyrone hands Kevin a few of Seb's things that Emma found in the flat. As Kevin reads a letter, he's shocked by the contents. Steve is caught out when Emma sees Steve getting his photo taken with a novelty cheque. She's stunned when the photographer confirms that the charity has the £100k. Daisy tells Max that he has Daniel to thank for not being expelled. Max is horrified and tries to rescue the laptop but David stops him, thinking he's out to cause trouble. The carol concert begins with Once in Royal David's City but, following Max's sabotage, the altered lyrics refer to Daniel as a creepy teacher.
