Plot[]
Part One: Maria and Gary gets to the barbers just before Kelly arrives and they see Stu hurriedly leaving. Kelly has to confess to letting him stay there overnight. Curtis is a bag of nerves before his first psychologist appointment. Determined to be with him, Emma lies to Tracy that they're off to see the wedding photographer and she'll be late to the hen party starting. Maria reluctantly has to refuse to let Stu stay again, but feels awful for doing so, wanting to make positive changes if she wins the election. Audrey is getting annoyed with Gail fussing over her. Adam suggests that he and Sarah have a last Christmas alone before they start a family. A coughing Stu tries to convince Kelly that his chest is fine. Having a chat, Tim lets slip to Gary that County are building a new training ground on green space when Gary calls on him to try and dig up dirt to help Maria. When Gary surreptitiously phones Maria to tell her, Tim fumes, realising he's been spied on. Kelly asks Billy for help in finding Stu for somewhere to sleep. Yasmeen overhears. With Emma present, Curtis meets psychologist Melanie Darby. He is upfront and honest about his problem, saying he gets a thrill out of people being worried that he is ill but he doesn't want to lose Emma as he has with so many others.
Part Two: Speaking to Emma afterwards, Melanie is hopeful that they can make progress. Mary is already drunk at the hen event. Ken tells Adam he wants the whole family together at Christmas to celebrate Peter's sobriety. Yasmeen offers Stu her spare room but he's reluctant to agree, not waiting to do it just to assuage her guilt. Emma joins the hens. Mary gets tearful at the thought of Curtis dying. Emma runs off crying when Amy gives her a present of as star named after the two of them for her to remember him by once he's gone. Gail and Audrey return from seeing an optician who has diagnosed cataracts. David isn't pleased when Gail tells him that his gran is staying until she's had them treated. A worried Amy follows Emma home, upset that she made her cry. Unable to keep pretending, Emma tells Amy the truth about Curtis.
Part Three: Amy is outraged at the deception, but Emma begs her to keep it secret. Gary gives Tim a fourpack of beers as an apology. Audrey tells Sarah she has to join the family for Christmas as it would upset Gail too much if she wasn't there. Amy reluctantly agrees to keep Curtis's secret from the family. Maria asks James if he'll endorse her campaign but he refuses as County have banned their players from getting involved in any political campaigns about local developments. She and Phill smell a rat and Phill agrees to investigate the matter. The stags start their party but it is somewhat subdued until Steve and Ken begin a bet as to who can drink the other under the table. Tim whinges to Gary and Maria about the way they've been spying on him. Having accepted Yasmeen's offer, Stu makes a joking comment about the need for her to keep her home clean. Saying she can't have a man under her roof, Yasmeen runs off in tears.
Part Four: Alya has to explain about Geoff's abuse of her gran using cleaning matters to control her. Stu feels terrible. Audrey fails totally when she is tasked with helping Max with his homework. He manages to get her out of the way so that he can go back to his video games. Amy points out to Emma how many people she is having to lie to in order that she can cover for Curtis and that she must be honest after the wedding is over. Yasmeen calms down and tells Kelly that Stu can have some trial shifts at Speed Daal. A happy Kelly feels that the street is starting to accept her when Yasmeen praises the way that she is looking out for her friend. At that moment, Kevin and Abi return from their honeymoon. Kevin is on edge about his wife seeing that Kelly is a neighbour. Sarah suggests to Adam that they organise a joint Barlow-Platt Christmas. Having been beaten by Ken, a drunk Steve hands Curtis his bank card and PIN number, asking him to transfer the £100,000 to Oliver's charity fund. George tries to get hints from Eileen about what she wants as her Christmas present. David finds Audrey in the Rovers having found Max playing video games. Emma assures Curtis that she still wants to marry him, even though she is finding the constant lies a strain. Curtis logs on to Steve's bank account.
